John "The Eraser" Kruger is a U.S. Marshall and the titular main protagonist in the sci-fi action thriller, Eraser.

Biography[]
John Kruger is a U.S. Marshal working for the Witness Security Protection Program (WIT-SEC) specializing in "erasing" high-profile witnesses, faking their deaths to keep them safe from those who may wish to silence them. His latest assignment is to protect a woman named Lee Cullen, a senior executive for the defense contractor Cyrez Corporation who found out that her boss plans to sell top secret electronic pulse rifle on the black market, and made copies on the critical data on the Cyrez mainframe on two disks: one for her and one for the F.B.I. When she was discovered by William Donahue, the corrupt executive of Cyrez facilitating the arms sale, he committed suicide right in front of her, so the F.B.I. won't catch him. Upset that the F.B.I. failure to guarantee her safety, she gave them the evidence needed, but won't summit herself to WIT-SEC.
That night, John saved her as she was being attacked by gunmen and took her to New York City where she can be hidden, even from WIT-SEC.
