Joint Special Operations Command, also referred to as JSOC or J-SOC, is a major protagonist faction in the Call of Duty franchise. The organization are also the commanders of the military's tier-one units, with SEAL Team Six and Delta Force appearing in the franchise.

History[]

Origins[]

JSOC was formed on December 15th, 1980 as a subdivision of US SOCOM and they are an elite intelligence operation task force. The organization also oversee special mission units through the U.S. Military's special elite operations task forces - SEAL Team Six, Delta Force, 24th STS and the ISA.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[]

JSOC is mentioned in Modern Warfare 3 by the Battle Captain, who provides information on Delta Force's Team Metal being close enough to protect New York from the Russian Army's invasion.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

By 2025, JSOC oversees operations pertaining to taking down Raul Menendez, a terrorist leader who has gained followers across the globe. Under the command of Admiral Tommy Briggs and Lt. Commander David "Section" Mason, JSOC and SEAL Team Six battle against Cordis Die and Mercs to prevent Menendez's plans from going into motion. Frank Woods also mentions JSOC when speaking to Mason on his past, explaining that he warned them on Menendez's rise to power, but they ignored him since the drone race had started.

- She also refers to the team as "Black Ops".
