“ | Heroes and tyrants rise and fall, and historians sort out the pieces… don't go thinking that this war—your war—is any more important than any other war simply because you're in it. | „ |
~ Jolee Bindo |
“ | "Don't coddle me, child, I'm neither a Jedi or your master. I'm just an old man who's been lost in the woods for far too long." | „ |
~ Jolee Bindo |
Jolee Bindo was a human Grey Jedi who appears in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. He was originally a headstrong Padawan who did what he felt was right, even against the wishes of the Jedi Council. He smuggled goods to starving worlds, meeting on one such trip his future wife Nayama. They were married, even though marriage was forbidden among the Jedi. Bindo also trained the Force-sensitive Nayama, despite being only a Padawan at the time.
When Exar Kun ignited the Great Sith War, Nayama fell to the dark side, along with many other Jedi. She tried to unsuccessfully turn Jolee also, culminating in a duel that brought her to her knees. Unable to kill his wife, Jolee let Nayama go, allowing her to kill many Jedi before her own demise. However, the Jedi Council didn't punish Jolee, believing him to have learned his lesson the hard way. When they wished to make him a Jedi Knight, he lost his faith in the Jedi and went into self-imposed exile in the Shadowlands of Kashyyyk for twenty years.
When the amnesiac Revan looked for one of the Star Maps in the Shadowlands, he met Jolee. Jolee was one of the few who had been aware of Revan's true identity all along, but did not say anything until Revan learned of his true identity, feeling it was not his place to say anything. Sensing a great destiny in store for the former Sith Lord, Jolee joined on the quest to find the Star Forge and stop Darth Malak. After the Battle of Rakata Prime, he and the other companions of Revan were awarded with the Cross of Glory.
