Jonah is a supporting character of the 2010 western action-adventure video-game Red Dead Redemption while his zombie version serves as a minor antagonist of the non-canon DLC Undead Nightmare. He Serves under Marshal Leigh Johnson in Armadillo.
He is portrayed by Brad Carter
Biography[]
Background[]
Jonah serves as a deputy in the town of Armadillo under Marshal Leigh Johnson and works with closely with the fellow Deputy Eli.
Red Dead Redemption[]
He is first encountered by John Marston while sleeping in a jail cell, mistaking Marston for a member of the Williamson Gang and nearly escalating the situation before being calmed by Marshal Johnson and was ordered to leave.
In the Mission "Justice in Pike's Basin" while riding with the Marshal, Eli and John Marston to the canyons, he says that John looks far from being a government boy after he was asked by Marshal Johnson how long he was working for them. He argues again with John, calling him as a "tight-lipped son-of-a-bitch" until Leigh calms him down and stops arguing with John.
Throughout the game, Jonah assists with Marshal Johnson and John Marston on missions to eliminate outlaw activity in New Austin. Despite his abrasive personality, he contributes to the efforts against the Williamson Gang and participates in important operations, including the assault on Fort Mercer.
Undead Nightmare[]
When John Marston was requested by Marshal Johnson to find Jonah and Eli, Jonah was seen to be getting devoured by the infected Deputy Eli.
Personality[]
Jonah is known by his dim-witted, unkempt, and belligerent nature. He often displays a strong southern accent and insists on his Irish heritage. Jonah is shown to dislike the protagonist John Marston since they first met but became neutral at the end of the New Austin Chapter. He is also shown to be very loyal to Marshal Leigh Johnson.
