Josh Johnson is one of the main protagonists of the Netflix dark horror film Fear Street trilogy.
He is portrayed by Benjamin Flores Jr who also plays Henry Fier in Fear Street: 1666.
Overview[]
An unsocial student at Shadyside's high school, the seemly awkward Josh is the town's seeker of truth. Already lacking with no friends due to his internet habit and being raised with his sister by their alcoholic father, Josh finds himself struggling against a variety of even worse fates and recites a cheat code known as "Extra life" to himself to get through bad times in school.
Biography[]
In the beginning, Josh Johnson believes in the witch’s curse; he’s dedicated to the community of sharing the truth behind the murders, which is connected to the witch. Josh then realizes that the witch’s undead minions are targeting Sam for disrupting Sarah Fier’s grave. The first Fear Street film sees him, his sister Deena Johnson and friends Kate and Simon, attempting to save Sam from the curse.
By the end of Fear Street: 1994, Josh is chatting with "Queen of air and darkness". Believeing the curse is broken until Sam becomes possessed by Sarah Fier and attempts to kill Deena. The final moments of the film show Deena vowing to bring her girlfriend back from the witch’s clutches, setting the stage for the next two movies.
Between Fear Street: 1978 and 1666, He and his sister visits C. Berman's house for help on where to find the hand of Sarah Fier and reunites it with the rest of her corpse attempting to end the witch's curse. Only to have her spirit send back in time into Sarah Fier's body to relieve her life in 1666 to realize the truth. When Deena returns to the present, she pulls and warns Josh away from Goode to tell him about everything she learned and sets out to plan with her and friends to kill Goode and end his deal with the Devil once and for all to save Shadyside. The killer follows Deena's blood and uses it to distract them from her long enough for the Josh, Ziggy, and Martin to defend her while she goes after Goode, Josh picks up Nightwing's axe to use against Ruby Lane until his arm gets broken by her and gets rescued by his allies. While Deena is pin down by him who would frame her for the murder of her allies and get away with it, but Deena hears a whisper of Sarah Fier's voice from the heart of the Devil and in effort places Goode's hand on it to have him see to victims ever been harmed by him and his family before. Which distracted him for Sarah though Denna's body to stab him in the eye causing all the killer to vanish, Sam's soul is restored, and victory was won.

- Vast information of Shadyside's killers History: In dedication with the truth behind the murders going on in Shadyside, Josh has a great feat to know about facts and details regarding enemies. He learned about the history in 1666, Cyrus Miller being the first recorded as a killer because of Sarah Fier and her getting hanged for witchcraft but cheated her death by cursing the town for a eternal vendetta. When Simon mentioned the girl trying to kill him with a razor blade, he references it to have been Ruby Lane and tells his friends about her backstory which took place in 65, then had each them to believe that all the killing were linked to the withes curse being true like the nursery rhyme. Then the group goes to the woods to Sarah's grave to find out that Sam's blood was what the killers were after and sets out a trap, then uses the blood to lure them in the bathroom to lock them in with the poured alcohol to be ignited with fire which temporarily blew them apart as they began to regenerate. When attempting to have Sam being sacrificed believing it to be the only option left to end the danger, he figures that C. Berman/Ziggy in 78, was in the same condition Sam currently was in and survived the last decade then follows the instructions to how she can live as well. Him and the others rush to the grocery store to use drugs to temporarily stop Sam's heart and use adrenaline pens to revive her.
- Hacking: During his times when going on the internet, Josh was traded with hacks and used it on a vending machine which allowed every candy item to be administered.
- Melee Weapon Proficiency: In the trilogy, Josh knew his way in using weapons in physical contact. When being stormed by the Camp Nightwing killer, he pickups a pencil compass to stab his hand saving Simon. Once his group ran out Deena's blood in the water guns, he refused to let that stop him so he picks up Nightwing's axe and in a fit of rage strikes Ruby Lane in the back with it.
- Courage: Josh lacked making any friends due to being known as a nerd in High school, however since getting involved with the Shadyside killers, he had began to witness his own bravery. When heading the grocery store to end the curse, he gets complemented by Simon who admires Josh for his knowledge is what got them all this far and reminds him to see in himself that and use it. In the events of the third film, Josh helps his allies to fight off the killers from going after Deena and he gets sliced in the stomach and ends up having his left arm broken by Ruby Lane but is rescued by C. Berman and Martian then shows endurance to stand being surrounded by each of the killers long enough til Deena stabs Goode which causes them all to vanish.
