Kanata Asumi is the main protagonist of Ultraman Decker. Once a store worker, he later went on to become Ultraman Decker’s human host and become a member of GUTS-Select after the Sphere began their invasion.
History[]
Ultraman Decker[]
While his parents were on the there trip to Mars, he was helping his grandfather run his rice cracker shop. One day, while walking to the spaceport in Sorafune City to make a delivery to a customer, he met with the two GUTS-Select Members Ichika Kirino and Soma Ryumon, the former of which he offered one of his rice-cakes. However, upon meeting them, the three were soon interrupted by the sudden appearance of the sphere whom started showing up throughout all parts of the world.
During this, Kanata chose to to help them rescue a woman who was trapped under the rubble before later using a machine gun to distract the spheres. In doing this, he was eventually consumed by one of them. Fortunately, while inside it, he was later rescued by Ultraman Decker and given his power to fight against Spherasaurus, alongside the Ultra D Flasher and the Ultra Dimension Core to transform into him.
Upon defeating the monster, he later tried following the sphere into space before eventually getting sent back to Earth anyways by their shield barrier, covering the planet entirely and preventing any outsiders from getting in and any insiders from getting out. Luckily, Kanata managed to survived his fall, at the cost of his D Flasher disappearing.
Having seen Kanata’s willingness to protect others, he later offered him a chance to join GUTS-Select in order to fight back against the spheres. Although, initially conflicted, he eventually agreed to join after his grandfather encouraged him to do what he felt was right.
