Kaoru Watabe is a minor character in The King of Fighters series.
She is voiced by Ayako Kawasumi and Sarah Sawatsky.
History[]
Kaoru is an Athena fangirl who is stuck in a wheelchair and very depressed, but regains the will to live and walk thanks to seeing Athena in a TV concert. She sends Athena the letter that motivates her and Kensou to ask Chin forfeit his veto to them going to the 1997 tournament. Kaoru joins up with them at the end of the tournament, starts getting better physically speaking, and ever since then she works as their aidé, taking care of Bao and their Temple when they're not around. She also appears as a Striker in KOF 2000.

Kaoru was very shy and sorrowful before meeting Athena, but after that happened, Kaoru has found happiness in her friends.
