Kardor is a villain turned ally in Galtar and the Golden Lance, serving as the antagonist of the episode, The Manta Marauders.
Biography[]
Kardor is the ruler of Mantar, and has his subjects travel in ships (shaped like manta rays) to other worlds to steal treasure to give him. During one raid, the Mantarians accidentally kidnap Goleeta.
Kardor congratulates his subjects on the treasure they have gotten, but Goleeta also voices her displeasure. Kardor prepares to kill Goleeta's keeper, Marko, for not keeping her in line, but Marko shows him the Golden Lance. Galtar and Zorn are then brought into the throneroom, and Kardor commands Galtar to show him the workings of the Golden Lance. Galtar refuses, but Kaldor threatens that Goleeta will vanish forever by the next morning unless Galtar complies to his demands. Goleeta then falls into a cell.
When everyone is gone, Kardor, who is really just a normal man, goes to look at the treasure. While he is playing in it, he looks at the Golden Lance and hopes that learning how to use it will ensure that he will not keep having to stay in the control room. As he goes to his control room, Rak and Tuk lock him in the vault where he keeps his gold. They then take control of his holographic projection.
Galtar and Zorn are chased by Mantarian soldiers into Kardor's throneroom, whereupon Rak quickly reveals himself and explains Kardor's trick. He then proposes that Galtar help him get the treasure, and Galtar reluctantly agrees. Unfortunately, Kardor tricks Tuk into sending Galtar and Zorn into the cell with Goleeta.
Having realized that they have been tricked, Kardor's subjects form an angry mob, but Rak and Tuk start fighting back. Knowing nothing about electronics, however, they nearly destroy the temple until they release Kardor. Kardor regains control and makes his subjects retreat, but Galtar, Goleeta, and Zorn arrive in his control room to make him help them leave. Kardor complies, but only if he can leave as well.
As the group is packing up, however, Marko arrives and tries to blast everyone. Kardor opens a back door to allow everyone to leave. He flies on a Mantar ship, while Galtar, Goleeta, and Zorn ride Raven's Claw. The Mantarians chase them, and one damages the acceleration control that Galtar and Kandor are on. After making Galtar leave, Kardor shoots at the group to look like he is on the Mantarians' side. He flies away just as the portal closes.
