Karin Asaka is the main characters of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. She is 17 years old and a third year in Nijigasaki High School. Karin was born in June 29 and is a Cancer. She has blue eyes and short black hair, with some locks in the back that drape on her shoulders and large breasts. She usually wears a black pantyhose with her school uniform. Her main image color is blue. She is 167 centimeters tall, and her blood type is AB. She is the center of DiverDiva sub-unit under Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. Her solo song album is Starlight, Wish, Fire Bird and VIVID WORLD.

She is voiced by Miyu Kubota (who also voiced Medusa in Dropkick on My Devil!, Sophie Hojo in PriPara series, and Emo Moegi in Kiratto Pri☆Chan) in Japanese and Shara Kirby in English.

Karin is a third year student who aims to become a model and has confidence with her body; she belongs to the life design course. Her personality is passionate and mature, but she also has somewhat of a pure side. She's good at coordinating clothes. She did her early activities at the Dengeki Online website and is described as a "sexy older sister type school idol".

Karin is regarded as "2018 MVP" for ranking first-place for three consecutive months; taking only 2nd and 3rd in the other monthly polls.

Karin is passionate, mature and gives off a rather seductive vibe. She can use her adult-like looks to her advantage. But she also has somewhat of a pure side. Karin tries to tease her underclassmen, or teach them lessons on how to be sexy and cool like her.
