Katara is the deuteragonist of the 2010 fantasy movie The Last Airbender, based on Book 1 of the cartoon series Avatar: The Last Airbender. She is the last Waterbender of the South Water Tribe, the younger sister of Sokka and one of the two traveling companions of Aang.
She is portrayed by Nicola Peltz, who also portrays Tessa Yeager from the Transformers film series.

Katara was born in Wolf Cove to Kya and Hakoda into the Southern Water Tribe. She and her older brother, Sokka both lost their mother during one of the raids Fire Nation and their dad went to go fight in the Hundred Year War. Katara and Sokka were raised by their grandmother, Gran-Gran.

Powers and abilities[]
- Waterbending: Katara is one of the few Waterbenders from the Southern Water Tribe. However, due to her status as a beginner, Katara has difficulty mastering waterbending. She accidentally gets her brother wet and she tries to water bend and also easily loses the fight with Zuko while she was defending Aang.

Katara is a young woman with long brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin.
