Kataru

Kataru is a Formling, Akita's brother and one member of the Never-Realm's Resistance in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.

He is voiced by Cole Howard, who also voices Terramar in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

History[]

When Kataru and Akita were young, at some point they had to find their animal form. And then they found them, Akita was a wolf, and Kataru was a bear. But after that, Vex attacked their people's village with Zane whom he believed to be the Ice Emperor, and they frozen their people and their village with the help of Boreal. And Boreal brought Kataru to the Castle of Ice, a prize for Zane. For years and months, Kataru thought Akita had frozen with his people, but he did not know that his sister had not been frozen. And when Lloyd was captured, Grimfax freed him and Kataru from the dungeon, and then Kataru and Grimfax helped Lloyd wake Zane. As they continued to the throne room, the Blizzard Samurai attacked and Grimfax and Kataru fought against them, and they were captured. But when Zane woke up, he destroyed his scepter and froze Vex, Kataru and Akita returned together and freed their people and the Grimfax people from their curse when they banished Vex from their land, and peace returned to the Never-Realm. And when the Ninja returned Ninjago, Kataru thinks Akita would never see Lloyd again, but she thought her brother was wrong, because "Never" is a very long time.

Personality[]

Being an older brother, Kataru is shown to be kind to his sister, and would often reassure her of her doubts or comfort her by suggesting they roam the realm in their animal forms. He was protective of her, as he defended her when the village came under attack by the Ice Emperor. He was also relieved to hear that she was still alive after all the time he was locked up. During the reunion with his sister, Kataru immediately ran to hug her happy to finally see her again for the first time in decades. After Lloyd’s departure, he comfort his sister by taking her to the woods to enjoy the peace with their animal forms.

After finding his animal form, Kataru gained confidence and bravery as he attempted to fight back against Boreal.

During his decades of being a prisoner of the Ice Emperor, Kataru became stubborn and pessimistic, such as when he outright refused Vex's offer, and didn't believe Lloyd about Akita's survival at first.
