Katherine "Kate" Lockwood-Goldberg, formerly known as Kate Galvin, is a central character in the fourth season of Netflix's You and serves as the main love interest. Kate is an art dealer who captures Joe's attention. She is the estranged daughter of Tom Lockwood, a prominent activist investor. Kate distanced herself from him due to the destructive consequences of his business activities. As a result, she rejects the British upper-class identity, even though her social circle is filled with wealthy and aristocratic acquaintances. The character is portrayed by Charlotte Ritchie.

Kate Galvin (née Kate Lockwood) was born to renowned American billionaire Tom Lockwood and British model Greta Galvin. As her father’s favorite child, Tom often expressed his desire for Kate to one day succeed him in managing his business empire. Kate had six paternal siblings: Teddy, the twins Reagan and Maddie, and three others whose names remain undisclosed.

Kate starts the fourth season in a relationship with Malcolm Harding, an arrogant professor at the university where Joe is teaching under the alias "Jonathan Moore." After Malcolm's murder, Joe begins following Kate, intending to protect her, leading to them growing closer and eventually sleeping together. Their relationship deepens during a trip to Lady Phoebe’s family estate, where Kate confides in Joe about her family history. That same night, Kate discovers her friend Gemma dead in her bedroom. She and Joe work together to hide the body, during which Joe confesses that he is being framed for Malcolm’s murder. Later, when the true killer, Rhys Montrose, traps Joe and Kate’s childhood friend, Roald Walker-Burton, in an underground dungeon, Kate intervenes to save them. A few days after this ordeal, Kate asks Joe out on a date, which he initially declines. However, Joe ultimately acknowledges his feelings, and the two begin a romantic relationship.
Kate’s father, Tom, arrives in London and suggests she take control of the family business. Kate adamantly refuses, but Tom reveals that he has been secretly influencing her career despite their estrangement, leaving her shattered. Later, Joe kills Tom and attempts to take his own life, but the police intervene and save him. Kate discovers that her father ordered the death of Rhys Montrose, and she covers up Joe’s involvement in it. Trusting her, Joe confesses his real name to her. The two relocate to New York City, where Kate assumes control of her father’s company and transforms it with a focus on philanthropy.
