As Kate drags Kevin upstairs, she is told by the officer not to worry about him or her house.
"There are fifteen people in this house and you're the only one who has to make trouble."

The next morning, Kate wakes up and checks her watch to see what time it is.
"Where are the passports and tickets?"

Before getting into the van, Kate is told by a cable guy that the power to the neighborhood is fixed but still needs to fix the phone lines.

Having been by the flight attendant that her phone lines are still out of order, Kate is comforted by Leslie who suggests they call Chicago when they arrive in Paris.

Upon hearing there are no available flights to Chicago, Kate asks the receptionist if they do private planes to which she says no.
"Peter, Kevin is home all by himself. I'm not leaving here unless it's on an airport."
