Katie Carter is main protagonist and anti-heroine of the 2013 revenge horror film I Spit On Your Grave 2. She was a woman from Missouri working as a model in New York where she was later raped and abducted, and nearly killed in Sofia, Bulgaria. She later come back to get revenge on those who tortured her and also because one of them unfortunately killed her friend Jayson.
She was portrayed by Jemma Dallender.
Overview[]
Katie Carter was born in Missouri and lives in New York, working as a model. To make ends meet, she also works two day jobs: cafe waitress and restaurant receptionist.
One day, she answers an advertisement offering a free photography session, since she was hopeless to update her modeling portfolio. She encounters a trio of Bulgarian brothers; Nikolay, Ivan and Georgy. Georgy becomes infatuated with Katie, and tries to have her do a topless photo, only for her to reject and leave. Georgy follows her to her apartment where he apologize her, which she agrees. Georgy gives her a flash drive containing her pictures. He tells her she can keep the pictures for her own privacy and upload or she can use photos and leaves the apartment. During the night, while Katie sleeps, Georgy takes pictures on her, and she wakes to be terrified to see him breaking into her apartment. While warning him, she uses a teaser to electrocute him. She attempts to escape, but Georgy catches, gags and binds her. Katie's neighbor hears Katie's screams and comes into her apartment, but Georgy stabs the neighbor to death as she is raped and sodomized. Georgy calls Ivan and Nikolay to come and the three brothers clear the evidence. Ivan force feeds the ketamine to Katie and she passes out.
She later wake up and found herself to be handcuffed to a pipe when naked in a basement. She vomits the drugs out. While she pretends to be still drugged unconscious as Georgy attempts to redress her, she Katie hits him with a bucket and escapes the basement. She finds the detective Kiril, and she realize she is in Bulgaria. While she asks to be taken to US embassy, Kiril gives her to Ana Patov who claims to be in a rape-crisis-center. Unfortunately, Ana is in fact the mother of Ivan, Georgy and Nikolay. She takes back Katie to the basement. A man named Valko, the friend of the family's father, electroshocks Katie's genitals with an electroshock gun, rapes her brutally and leaves her bloodied and Ivan continues to beat her. Katie is placed in a coffin with Valko's electroshock gun and her crucifix, and is buried alive. Fortunately, the coffin crashes from the ground to the sewer.
Naked and hungry while escaping again, she found a passage to the church where she steals and consume the food. She then breaks into Ana's house to steal her money buy clothes, weapons and other supplies. Katie lures Georgy into the sewers, kidnaps him and hangs his arms on the wall. Katie cuts Georgy's belly, cheek and thighs, and smears the fecal matter onto his cut wounds before leaving him to die of infection. At the nightclub, after Nikolay consume the drink filled with ecstasy, Katie lures him to drown him into the unflushed toilet. At the church, Valko sees Katie and goes after her. She hits him unconscious with a rock, and he wakes up to find himself strapped to a metal bed frame. She electrocutes him with his own electroshock gun like he did to her earlier. She then puts a plumber's snake into his mouth and down his throat. She turns the plumber's snake on, electrocuting Valko to death by jumper cables attached to the bed and rooter. Ana realizes Katie escaped and stole her stuff, and Katie push her, knocking her out via fall. Ivan discovers Katie's escape, and while looking for Katie, Katie knocks him out. Ana and Ivan are captured too and Katie force Ana to watch Georgy die of infection. Katie crush Ivan's testicles before Kiril arrive. Ivan subdue Katie and try to kill her, but Kiril shoot him in the head, killing him. Katie finally and successfully arrives at the US embassy.
