Kayla Watts is a magor protagonist in the 2022 film: Jurassic World: Dominion. She is an independent contract pilot that used her cargo plane to To make a living from large organizations. Initially, she Doing business with Biosyn and Soyona Santos, although she later collaborates with Owen Grady and Claire Dearing in order to return Their adopted daughter, Maisie Lockwood who was kidnapped by Biosin and helps them bring Maisie back home.
She is Portrayed by DeWanda Wise.
Biography[]
Kayla came from Detroit, Michigan and like many in her family, she began working in the US military.
She was a military pilot but was forced to leave due to low pay and began private contracting work. This included flying illegal cargo for large organizations.
After transporting illegal goods to Mombasa, she began working for the organization "Biosyn" smuggling dinosaurs around the world and transported four dinosaur species at Biosyn's sanctuary, as well as helping to transport goods to an underground market in Malta, where she was employed by dinosaur dealer Soyona Santos.
Soyona transported the raptor "BETA" in her transport plane to Soyona from California to Malta. While at the docks, she sees Maisie also in a transport helicopter. She asks one smuggler what she is doing here but is told that it is none of her business. Kayla ignores this, but when she runs into Claire at the night market, she realizes that the kidnapped girl is her adopted daughter. She decides to rescue her and Owen from Soyuna. Kayla rescues them in a truck she found, while they are being chased by Soyuna's Astrocyrraptors, and manages to reach her plane in time, when one of the Astrocyrraptors manages to board the plane but falls into the water when it collides with Owen's motorcycle.
However, Suyona warns Lewis Dodgson of their arrival and as they approach the valley he sends a Quetzalcoatlus to attack their plane, forcing Claire to bail out in an ejection seat and Owen and Kayla crash into a frozen lake, where they are attacked by a Pyroraptor. They arrive in time to rescue Claire from the Dilophosaurus and reunite at a research station before they are caught by the Burning Locust Dodgson sent.
They catch the car carrying Alan Grant, Allie Sattler and Maisie Lockwood and reunite, before they are all attacked by the local Giganotosaurus. They manage to escape the building and reunite with Ramsey Cole and Dr. Henry Wu, who has been redeemed. Kayla manages to direct the Giganotosaurus towards the approaching Tyrannosaurus and Therizinosaurus with fireworks, and in the fight, the Tyrannosaurus and Therizinosaurus kill it while the helicopter escapes.
After the incident, Kayla buys herself a new transport plane.

- Kayla Watts is the second canonical LGBT character after Zia Rodriguez in the film series. Her sexuality was confirmed by actress DeWanda Wise and referenced by her lines to Owen Grady, "I get it, I like redheads too", and her ambiguous relationship with Denise.
