Despite her departure, legends are told of Kayle, who punished the unjust with her fiery swords. Her unwavering presence and actions inspired hope in those who yearned for justice and equality. Tales of her tireless struggle on behalf of the oppressed spread, keeping the flame of hope alive in people's hearts.
Even though Kayle has withdrawn, her influence persists, and many eagerly await the day she will return to restore the balance of justice. The legend of Kayle endures, fueling the desire for a fair and balanced world where the wayward are corrected, and the oppressed find liberation through the divine fire she wields with mastery.
Biography[]
Kayle and her twin sister Morgana were born on Mount Targon during the height of the Rune Wars. Their mother, Mihira, was the current Aspect of Justice, and their father, Kilam, feared the changes he saw in her as her celestial power grew. Concerned for their safety, Kilam took the twins and fled to the land that would become Demacia.
As they grew, Kayle and Morgana developed distinct personalities. While Morgana empathized with the refugees in their new home, Kayle focused on upholding the laws to protect the people. One day, a sword descended from the sky and split into two, granting the sisters feathered wings and confirming their celestial connection. Kayle embraced her new power, while Morgana resented it.
During an attack on their settlement, Kayle fought on the front lines, while Morgana discovered hidden enemies targeting the city's citizens. Kayle felt betrayed by Morgana's departure from the battlefield, leading to a fracture in their relationship. Despite this, they were hailed as the Winged Protectors. Kayle established a judicator order at Silvermere's Peak, enforcing the law and hunting down rebels and wrongdoers. Morgana, on the other hand, sought to rehabilitate those who admitted their guilt. However, tensions grew within the order, and one of Kayle's disciples attempted to arrest Morgana and her followers. In the ensuing conflict, Ronas, the disciple, was killed by Morgana. This triggered a riot in the settlement.
Enraged by the events, Kayle unleashed her divine fire upon the sinners, while Morgana confronted her in the sky. Their duel caused destruction, but their father's cries stopped them. Mortally wounded, their father's plight reminded them of the senseless violence. Morgana threw her sword at Kayle and descended to cradle their dying father, while Kayle flew to Mount Targon to find their mother. Kayle embarked on a journey to seek clarity and stand by her mother's side, leaving Demacia behind. Despite her absence, her influence remained, shaping the culture, law, and architecture of Demacia. Many hoped for her return, while others feared it.
Morgana spent centuries searching for her sister and documenting her findings. Sightings and rumors persisted, but Kayle remained elusive. Morgana believed that Kayle prayed to her, even though her prayers went unanswered, but during the Mage Rebellion and Demacian Revolution, Kayle's presence was felt through mentions, visions, and her statue, which was covered up in Morgana's refuge. However, she did not return to Demacia during these events.
