Kazuma Kuwabara

Kazuma Kuwabara, more commonly known as Kuwabara is one of the main protagonists of Yu Yu Hakusho, along with Yusuke Urameshi, Kurama & Hiei. He is the younger brother of Shizuru Kuwabara. He also seeks to become Yukina's lover.

He was voiced by Shigeru Chiba in the Japanese version, and by Christopher R. Sabat in FUNimation, Lex Lang in Media Blasters, Cliff Lazenby in US Manga Corps, Russel Walt in Animax, and Niel Yu in Filipino the English version.

Biography[]

Kuwabara is Yusuke's rival who eventually becomes his close friend. He is slightly crass himself, but he and Kurama are among the nicest of the four main characters. Kuwabara has a very powerful sixth sense, which he doesn't seem to enjoy, and is able to manifest his reiki (spirit energy) as a sword. It was revealed that Kuwabara is the only full-blooded human of the main four.

Personality[]

In spite of his delinquent appearance and bellicose attitude, Kuwabara has a warm, tender, sensitive and kind heart who has a strong sense of justice and loyalty for those around him. In fact, he is one of the people trying to give Yusuke and the rest of the group moral advice, and show the most concern for innocent bystanders and collateral damage. Furthermore, he's the most emphatic to the plights of others and will even save an enemy if he believes they are worth saving.

He is deeply in love with Yukina, a yuki-onna and (unknown to him) Hiei's half sister. Kuwabara is nothing but loyal to Yukina, even if she doesn't understand his feelings.
