Keeper of the Time Stones is a male owl character from the Sonic the Hedgehog tv series he is also a character who has been mentioned in the comic books but never appeared in the comics. The Times Stones that the keeper guards are powerful objects from the video games, cartoons and comics. There are a total of seven Time Stones just like the Chaos Emeralds and the stones come from the world known as Little Planet. He was voiced by Tim Curry in Sonic SatAM who also voices King Acorn.

The Keeper of the Time Stones is a mysterious wise and powerful being who protects the Time Stones. The keeper lives on a mysterious floating island and offers riddles to anyone seeking the the Time Stones. Sonic and Sally meet him when they are looking for Time Stones and just like everyone who has sought the stones the two Freedom Fighters must answer one of his riddles to get the stones. After Sally answered correctly, the Keeper of the Time Stones disappeared and summoned the Time Stones, which he then gave to the heroes and instructed them to synchronize their thinking in order to use them properly. The Times Stones are objects in the video games they also appear in the cartoons however only two Time Stones are shown in the cartoon series while there are seven on a Sonic CD. Even though the Time Stones are important objects in the game Sonic CD, the stones and the Keeper of the Time Stones have no important or major role in the series. The Keeper and the Stones only appear in one episode.

Pre-Super Genesis Wave[]
The Keeper of the Time Stones who's real is Nicholas O'Tyme in the comics is the protector and guardian of the Time Stones. Although he is never seen he is mentioned and believed to be a legend and a rumor however what no one knows is that he is actually real and only a few people have ever seen him. Just like in the cartoons Nicholas is shrouded in mystery and very powerful. However there is a difference from the cartoons and comics Little Planet was never in the SatAM cartoons only in Sonic CD Nicholas Keeper of the Time Stones lives on the world Little Planet since this is where the Time Stones are from. Nicholas only gives the Time Stones to people he believes is worthy to use them. Nicholas in the comic books just like in the cartoons never has a major rule despite the fact he is the protector of slme very powerful items.
Post-Super Genesis Wave[]
Even though The Keeper of the Time Stones is unseen just like before and after the Genesis Wave his existence in the new reality created by Dr. Eggman is confirmed. Although still unseen the keeper is one of the few survivors to go through some changes in the new world. The Keeper of the Time Stones is still a guardian of the stones on the world known as Little Planet however his flying island from the cartoons can be found in the new universe on Little Planet. With the new universe following both the video games and cartoon shows Sally and Sonic encounter with the Keeper of the Time Stones when they were looking for the stones this is something that came into existence after the Genesis Wave and not before.
Trivia[]
- While the Time Stones do come from Little Planet the stones can only be found in the Special Stage also known as the Special Zone which appears in many Sonic games and is also the location of the Chaos Emeralds.
- Because the Time Stones are found in the Special Zone in Sonic CD and the SatAM cartoon Sonic and Sally meet the Keeper of the Time Stones by going through a magic door into another dimension. It is possible that he lives in the Special Zone while Little Planet from Sonic CD and the Floating Island are some of the places that are an entrance to the Special Zone.
- Even though the Keeper of the Time Stones was never seen in the comics he was also effected by the Genesis Wave created to take care of the lawsuit problem with Ken Penders. While the Keeper of the Time Stones still exists in the comics after the Genesis Wave along with the other SatAM characters because he is never seen it is unknown what changes he has went through.
