Kei Nagase, callsign Edge, is a character from the Ace Combat video game series, serving as a deuteragonist of Ace Combat 2 and its remake Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy and a minor character in Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies. She used to be a Scarface Squadron pilot and Phoenix's wingwoman during the Usean coup d'etat, before becoming an airliner pilot.
She was voiced by Hiromi Igarashi in Assault Horizon Legacy.

Kei Nagase was born on March 31, 1977 in an island country located in the far east of Usean continent. At some point, she became a member of the mercenary Scarface Squadron.
Ace Combat 2/Assault Horizon Legacy[]
In 1998, when Scarface Squadron was called in to defeat the coup d'etat that broke out in Usea, Nagase was assigned to Phoenix as his wingwoman in certain missions, assisting him in multiple missions until the rebel forces were defeated.
Post-Ace Combat 2[]
Eventually, Nagase retired from military servicce and found a job as a pilot for Air Ixiom.
Shattered Skies[]
During the Continental War, Kei Nagase was to pilot Air Ixiom Flight 701, boarded by Erusean defectors. Her plane and Flight 702 was pursued by Erusean fighters who sought to prevent the defectors from reaching ISAF territories and leaking information on Stonehenge. The planes were saved from their pursuers by an ISAF pilot and landed safely with no casualties.
Personality[]
What Kei Nagase lacks in physical strength she makes up for with her great flying intuition. In combat, she prioritized quick and effective tactics, and her cold demeanor surprized many of her male colleagues. Even without weapons at hand, Nagase is quite brave, which contributed to the survival of Flight 701 passengers.

- In an early advertisement, Kei Nagase was stated to be a sister of Reiko Nagase, the protagonist of Ridge Racer series, which led some to believe that it took place in the same universe as Ace Combat, despite the fact that the latter series' setting hadn't fully taken shape as of the second game's release.
- Nagase started the trend of multiple unrelated characters of the same name appearing in following Ace Combat titles in either major or minor roles.
