Chains can be seen wrapped around her chest, shoulders and face and her face seems to be missing eye sockets, also being stained with blood and grime, her skin is also a greyish-white colour.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Unknown, still being written by lore writers.
The Witch Trials[]
At some point in 1990 [3](when she was 25)[4] Keiko ended up in a village and gets a hallucination of a mysterious voice telling her the origins of the four beasts, and her ancestor - Kusonoki Masashige. After the vision fades, she attempts to find a way out by crossing the bridge, she realizes she has to find something to open the gate leading to the chamber of lost souls, after some searching through the trees she finds a white butterfly spirit, which she uses to open the gate, taking her to her first trial.
Chamber of lost souls[]
After entering the chamber, a voice in her head gives her a vague explanation on the origins of the fleshbags, and tells her to use the scrolls in the middle to escape. Keiko has to then steal all four scrolls from each of the fleshbags and place them on their assigned sculpture, opening another gate. Keiko makes her way to the exit and moves on into the second trial.
The Forest[]
Upon entering the forest, Keiko moves forward and enters a Minka, here she sees Kazeko on the ceiling, looking at her, before the girl moves away. She sacrifices a blue butterfly spirit and escapes the Minka. Here the same voice tells her to hide in bushes in order to avoid Kazeko and Hanzu, she gets to a giant house in the middle and sees that she needs to sacrifice two blades, a blade of light and a blade of dark. She does this by digging up keys and spirits, opening doors and making sure to avoid Kazeko and Hanzu. After completing her tasks she makes her way to the exit to enter the final trial.
Kyoto Town[]
Keiko enters Kyoto town and gets a vision of Futaba explaining how she was cursed by Kintoru and had her soul split in two, Futaba's motherly side being named "Futao" and Futaba's impulsive side being named "Mote" forming a monster nicknamed "Futaomote" by Kintoru[1]. Keiko completes the two skull puzzle and steals the white spirit from Futao and the corrupted spirit from Mote. She then burns the two sprits and rushes to the exit. After escaping the town, she sees Futao hung up on a tree as she (Futao) realizes that she wasn't a bad mother and that Kintoru was controlling her. The gamemode ends here and we are left unaware of how Keiko escaped Kintoru's dimension.
After the trials[]
Sometime after the trials she married a man named Daku. On September 4th 2000[5] she had her son - Yasu. When Yasu was young all three of them moved the the United States[6] (likely in California)[7] for an unknown reason. Sometime before getting cursed (likely after TWT) she took ownership of a doll named Tokito[1], however, she feels uneasy when the doll was around and has "already seen too much" , after many desperate attempts of getting rid of the doll, Tokito kept returning. Not much else has been confirmed yet.
Keiko's curse[]
At some point when she was 54[8], her and Daku were both cursed by Kintoru and turned into puppets. Her new lore is still being written so we don't know how she got cursed yet.
Control's Book[]
Chapter 4[]
The house[]
Keiko appears in the house as a non-hostile character, when Kintoru attempted to control her into jumping down from the ceiling and attacking Yasu, she fights for control over herself and succeeds, she appears again in the basement of the house, where her unconscious body can be seen. Yasu doesn't recognize her (likely due to how beaten she looks) and makes himself believe it is simply a Halloween prop, she also has a disorienting jump scare here.
The bloody swamp[]
As Yasu goes down into the bloody swamp, Keiko can be seen passing by quickly before disappearing.
Kusonoki's memorial[]
Keiko makes yet another minor appearance in Kusonoki's memorial, as a disorienting jumpscare when Yasu unlocks the safe and takes the key.
Freedom[]
After Yasu successfully slays Kintoru, Keiko and Daku are freed from the curse and return to their normal lives on earth, having no recollection of the incident. It is currently unknown if they were able to get rid of Tokito or if Yasu explained what happened to them.
Personality[]
Keiko is show to be a caring mother who did her best t protect her son from Kintoru's curse as she didn't want him to end up like her and Daku. However, with the book 1 lore revamp it is left unknown if Keiko suffered from any trauma caused by what she went through during The Witch Trials and her experience with Tokito, this will likely get explained by lore writers soon.
