You were threatening the city a few days ago, now you're defending it! I want to be a crime fighter like you!
~ Keiko's most famous quote.
Megamind: I gave the hero thing a shot. I can’t protect this city. I failed.
Keiko: You didn’t fail me.
Megamind: What do you mean?
Keiko: When I first moved to Metro City with my mom, I got teased a lot. My name, the way I dressed, the way I just say whatever’s on my mind. I think being an outsider, people just assumed I was a bad kid. I started being what they expected of me, getting into fights, skipping class. But then, you stopped Tighten. It showed me maybe I don’t have to live up to others’ expectations. I just have to live up to my own. If a bad guy can become a hero, maybe so can a bad kid.
Megamind: Must be disappointing to see your hero’s such a fraidy-cat.
Keiko: No! Shows you’re smart! Because you have zero chance of defeating The Doom Syndicate on your own.
Megamind: I thought you were my biggest fan.
Keiko: I am, but I’m also a realist.
~ Kekio motivating Megamind.

Keiko Morita is the tritagonist of the Megamind franchise.

She is Megamind's biggest fan and the leader of the fan club named after him. She aspires to be a superhero just like him.

She is voiced by Maya Aoki Tuttle.

Appearance[]

Keiko is an adolescent and short Japanese-American girl. She has short black hair with two buns on the side of her head. She has black eyebrows and black eyes. Her casual attire is a green tank top with a blue electric bolt with white outlines and underneath is a purple short sleeved shirt. She also wears transparent black gloves on her arms. She also wears jeans and black leather boots.

Personality[]

Keiko is generally an energetic and optimistic young girl. She is portrayed as extremely obsessive over Megamind which is why she built a fan club centered around him and aspires to be just as heroic as him. This behavior, combined with her massive cult following on social media, has resulted in her talking a lot about how she is her number one fan. She is also an outcast at school, similar to how Megamind was when he was her age, and gains personality similar to Megamind as time goes on.

Keiko feels jealous of other social media influencers and tries to be better than them in any way possible. This is best shown when Keiko feels jealous that Dude Monkey is becoming more popular than Megamind and tries everything to keep Megamind at the top.

Keiko is rarely ever seen without electronics and prioritizes using her phone to capture Megamind's most entertaining moments. She is also technology savvy as shown when working with him.

Regardless, she is ultimately a selfless and honorable individual as when the city was in danger, she tried to evacuate everybody and defeats Nighty-Night with a flash-grenade. Afterwards, she serves as Megamind's loyal and trusty assistant and helps him defend Metro City as well as helping him learn from his occasional mistakes. She is also genuinely friendly with Megamind's best friend Minion and love interest Roxanne Ritchi and they become her best friends too.

Synopsis[]

Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate[]

Keiko is first seen recording a video of Megamind's speech and sharing it to social media. She proclaims that she wants to be a superhero just like him.

She is later seen recording footage of the Doom Syndicate causing destruction all over the city and busts in a bank to assure everybody that Megamind was just doing a drill.

She appears again with Roxanne motivating Megamind to stop the Doom Syndicate. She helps Roxanne get the citizens into safety and helps Minion prevent Metro City from being launched into the moon. She also defeats Nighty-Night. She is last seen pictured with the newly elected Mayor Ritchi along with Megamind and Minion.

Megamind Rules![]

Season 1[]

In "Megamind vs. Dude Monkey," Keiko sees the new superhero known as Dude Monkey and feels jealous about his popularity. She tries to keep Megamind at the top.

In "The Villainous Origin of Mr. Donut," she is seen eating donuts with the rest of the gang after Mr. Donut turned again.

In "Roach Hard: With A Vengeance," she and Minion accidentally break a bag of oats she was eating from. In an attempt to clean out the roaches, they accidentally made one roach smarter. They try to stop Rochelle, the roach that gained sentience, but she takes over Minion's suit and made all of the other roaches sentient. After Megamind stops them all with a vacuum, she is later seen eating oats once again.

In "MegaMayor," she is seen assisting Roxanne (in Megamind's body) and Minion in defeating Lady Doppler.

In "Extra Credit," Keiko is seen creating a tennis robot. Megamind reprogrammed that robot to be his camp buddy after seeing her teacher flirt with Roxanne that briefly turned evil due to being programmed with all of Megamind's insecurities. Keiko redeemed him by letting him have a game of fetch.

In "Too Much Chum," she assists Megamind in defeating Behemoth.

She serves as the titular protagonist of the episode "A Cake For Keiko." It was her birthday, but Megamind refused to make her his protégée and undervalued her. Feeling upset, she tries to find out the Doom Syndicate to know what their plan is. She meets the mysterious leader and she ends up stealing Megamind's binky and tries to give the Doom Syndicate a fake one. However, their mysterious leader got ahold of the real one and got his body back, where he was revealed to be the supervillain Machiavillain who was Megamind's master. She goes back to Megamind's lair where he baked a cake for her but she runs off crying after feeling she disappointed him again.

In the season finale "Who Wants To Save A City?", she assists Megamind in tackling Machiavillain's challenges but gets upset when Megamind gets framed at the end. However Megamind calls for Metro Man to help.
