Kelvin "Kel" Roberts is a minor character in the 2021 computer animated Barbie film Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams and the supporting protagonist in the 2022 TV serial It Takes Two. He is the father of Brooklyn Roberts and husband of Simone Roberts.

He was voiced by Gabe Kunda.

History[]

Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams[]

To living in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and daughter, Simone and Barbie, Kelvin ordering his daughter to enrolled in performing arts school called Handler Arts Academy when Barbie arrived in New York and meet the other Barbie. Upon their meets, the girls nicknamed each other its base on where they were from, Kelvin and Simone's daughter takes her alias "Brooklyn" and that Barbie wants to become "Malibu". Malibu and Brooklyn are eventually becomes best friends which they how to does this way is seized the Spotlight Solo.

When Kelvin phone his daughter about that Simone was in Mexico, he always told her and that was taking the reason is only earnest. He recommend that Brooklyn living at home while joining in the school, but she telling him that she don't wanted to traveling back and forth every day. Upon speaking with her father, Brooklyn telling him that she realizing he does likes Malibu. Even loving his daughter, Kelvin finishing the call and hoping Brooklyn would to be very courteous.

Malibu and Brooklyn are completed to have solo performance in Time Square, despite enjoying to danced, Malibu becoming clumsy as she accidentally knocked Brooklyn down, causing her gets hurt. Everybody lied to Dean Morrison of their academy that Malibu deliberately harming Brooklyn in attempted to destroy her as competition. As for the happened, Brooklyn believing the lies, the dean decided to banishing Malibu, never having her coming back.

Returning to her home, Malibu setback as she learning about her sabotage Brooklyn. When Brooklyn's friends know that Malibu doesn't gets hurting Brooklyn, Simone flies Brooklyn to California and meet Malibu, feel sorry for her. Aftermaths, Malibu returning to the performing school which help Brooklyn to finding the Spotlight Solo. During the live concert at the night, the girls are performed together where Kelvin and Simone are happy to watching them singing and dancing under honor.

Barbie: It Takes Two[]

Malibu and Brooklyn are continued to attending the school while they staying at Brooklyn's home, by that on, Malibu joined the dinner with Brooklyn's family. The next day, before Malibu's parents could able to taking her home, Malibu and Brooklyn singing a song about how strong their friendship is. Kelvin, Simone, Margaret, and George are give their daughters a standing ovation after and agree to let them go to Handler for the fall school term. Its the true, the girls stayed at Brooklyn's house and not the dormitory.

However, Brooklyn and Malibu are going to Blown Speaker Studios to record "Find My Way Home" for their demo. Brooklyn give her phone to the engineer and asked him to puts the song on her phone forasmuch she can let her parents to be listening it. Kelvin, Rafa, and his family are later watching Malibu and Brooklyn participated in a farm-based game show, having the match are finishing in which the audiences are kudos.

After the victory of the show and received $1000 worth of potatoes, the girls would be funny and even their parents buy the potatoes from them. But since have them to reward for their hardworking in school and on their music, Kelvin, George, and Margaret would be reserved of their daughters.
