Kendra Saunder, better known as Hawkgirl, is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Carter Hall) of second Arrowverse crossover event, Heroes Join Forces and the tritagonist of Season 1 of DC Legends of Tomorrow.
Biography[]
Ancient Egypt[]
Centuries ago in Ancient Egypt, Kendra was a reincarnation of the High Priestess, Chay-Ara, who is in love with Prince Khufu, who the former loves back. Hath-Set (later known as, Vandal Savage) had his eye on her too, but Chay-Ara's love was only for the prince. Consumed with jealousy, he had both the prince and Priestess murdered. During the attempted murder, all three of them were exposed to a mutative element during a meteor shower, which was actually a product of futuristic technology from the planet Thanagar; as a result, Chay-Ara and Khufu were reincarnated each time they died until they finish their ancient arch-enemy.
Meeting Team Flash & Arrow[]
In 2016, Chay-Ara was reincarnated as Kendra Saunders. She works as a barista at CC Jitters in Central City. She meets Cisco Ramon and the two began to date. It was then Kendra's arch-enemy, now Vandal Savage, appears, but Kendra has no memory of him. Cisco and Barry bring her to safety in Star-Labs and call Team Arrow for help, which Kendra now learns the secret identities of the superheroes. But then, a winged man, Hawkman, appears. He is Carter Hall, a reincarnation of Prince Khufu and husband. He tries to help Kendra regain her memories of her past lives, her love with him, and her vigilante warrior identity, Hawkgirl. But she couldn't. Carter explains to everyone their history and what is going on, with a little help from Malcolm Merlyn who has some knowledge of their attempted assassin. In order to hunt down Vandal Savage and save the Ancient Warriors, both teams decided to take refuge in a farmhouse in the outskirts of Central City and formulate plans.
