(Text: "Prince Heinel is one of the characters with the highest degree of perfection, even though he has an unusual setting in anime as the protagonist of a tragedy...This is the second robot animation work in collaboration with Toei. Voltes V adds drama that wraps the entire game to the powerful mechanics of the first Combattler V. In Voltes V, the dramatic elements of Combattler V are extracted and drawn to the level of middle and high school students. Mr. Tadao also said that it was a big deal at the time to put so much drama into this kind of work (robot work). And pay for this splendor.")

Sketch of Kenichi in the February 1980 issue of 月刊OUT
Kenichi in the July 1980 issue of 月刊OUT. In this manga by Yuuki Masami, Heinel has a gun. When Katherine asks where he got it from, he says Kenichi gave it to him. However, Katherine breaks the gun in half (presumably out of jealousy), upsetting Heinel. Meanwhile Kenichi is holding a sword. When Ippei asks where he got it from he says Heinel gave it to him. Ippei then yells that he wants something too. In the next scene, Heinel is asks Katherine what she will do for the next Beast Knight, and she replies "it involves frogs". Heinel then looks through a box that says "frog", while saying "this?". The next day, while Ippei and Kenichi are having breakfast, Big Falcon announces "Beast Knight sighted" while Kenichi mutters "again?". When the Voltes team see the Beast Knights, it turns out to be a group of frogs that call them "mama" ("まま").

(Bottom: "Heinel draws a sword. The battle isn't over!!! It is never ending, continue until the last person is standing. Heinel and Kenichi slashed violently, but then Dr. Go realized that Heinel's dagger looked familiar. It was the dagger he had entrusted to Lozaria, his wife when he was on Boazania. The sudden fact hit Dr. Go: The child Lozaria gave birth to in exchange for her life...that was Heinel. "Heinel... your mother is my wife Lozaria, Kenichi, Daijirou and Hiyoshi are your brothers!!!"
The irony of this made Heinel dropped his sword, collapse, and weep. "What is this, what is this fight for... brothers fighting bloody battles?" he cried.
Then Zambajil appeared with jewels all over his body and a hand grenade, with the expression of a madman. "Uncle! Stop this fighting!" cried Heinel, but Zambajil shouted in a maddened voice that everything was done by Heinel and that he should be killed.)

(Bottom:"Burning with anger, Heinel threw a dagger at Zambajil, and the grenade exploded. The floor rose and separated Heinel and Kenichi. At that moment, Heinel instinctively finds himself protecting him from the blast. What was going through Heinel's mind as he stared at Kenichi? A crack ran through his voice. "Brother" he said, as the flames burned. Heinel then turned to La Gohl. Then he whispered in a small voice, "Father!!!" This must have been the first word Heinel said since he was born... The flames burned more and more violently, and eventually enveloped Heinel...
And on this day, the long dark age of Boazan Planet came to an end, and the days of strong revival of people began towards a new history.
How was it, the final episode that lives up to the name of a dramatic robot anime. I recapitulated the story, and even my eyes were full of tears... I'm stupid.)

Kenichi is the pilot of the Volt Cruiser and the main pilot of the Voltes V. From an early age, he received special education as a warrior by his mother Mitsuyo and Dr. Hamaguchi, who expected the invasion of invaders, and is good at handling computers, various mechanics, machines and martial arts. His shooting skills are top-notch, and he has experience winning tournaments, giving him a sense of confidence. He loves handguns. He has a passionate personality, but he is caring and never forgets to be considerate of others. He serves as the leader of the Voltes team, but because he is kind, he is forced to make difficult decisions and sometimes came into conflict with Dr. Sakonji. In addition, he guides his youngest brother, Hiyoshi.")
