Kevin is a major character in the Thomas & Friends franchise.
He is a crane who works at the Sodor Steamworks. He is also Victor's assistant and best friend.
Kevin is voiced by Matt Wilkinson in the UK dub, and Kerry Shale (who also voiced Henry, Gordon, James, and Sir Topham Hatt) in the US dub.
Biography[]
Kevin makes his debut in the first CGI movie special, Hero of the Rails. He is first seen dropping some engine parts while Victor and the workmen are fixing Thomas' brakes. When Victor tells Kevin to lower things slowly and gently, the latter says that it was a slip of the hook. Later, Thomas takes Percy to the Sodor Steamworks after the latter pops a piston. Before they can tell Victor what happened, Kevin drops some more engine parts. Afterward, Thomas and Percy tell Victor about Hiro, so that he can give him some new engine parts.
A few days later, Spencer gets damaged at the quarry, and he has to go to the Steamworks to be fixed. When Kevin drops something, Spencer closes his eyes. This gives Thomas a chance to collect the flatbed of engine parts that were needed to fix Hiro. After failing to fix Hiro properly, Thomas asks Sir Topham Hatt for help.
When Thomas and Percy take Hiro to the Steamworks, Victor and Kevin work together to fix him. However, Kevin is still having trouble lowering things slowly and gently. Once Hiro is fixed, he goes back to his hometown.
After the events of Hero of the Rails, Kevin is occasionally seen helping Victor fix broken engines. He also continues to drop things and say, "It was a slip of the hook", much to Victor's annoyance. Despite his clumsiness, Kevin likes to be a really useful crane, and he wants to impress Victor.
