Keyarga, originally known by his real name, as Keyaru and also known as the Hero of Recovery, is the titular main protagonist of the 2017 Japanese dark fantasy light novel (if you can really call just adding rape and slavery into a series dark fantasy due to the lazy worldbuilding), manga and anime series Redo of Healer.
While he was a gentle and kindhearted person, he was betrayed by the reign’s princess, Flare Arlgrande Jioral, the other heroes, Blade and Bullet as well the Kingdom's knight including Renard, the Knights' Captain, and the maids and butlers,who tortured him via rape, drugging, abuse and slavery. This led him to fall into madness (temporarily) and vengeance, and he became a vengeful, sadistic, delusional, hypocritical and misanthropic warrior
He is voiced by Yuya Hozumi in the anime adaptation. In his female form as Keara, he is voiced by Yōko Hikasa.
Biography[]
Originally he was born from Alban village as an innocent Boy chosen to become a legendary hero specializing in healing, Keyaru was just used by them after being deceived and tormented by those whose side he was supposed to fight on. Eventually, after having his kind nature warped in spite by his torturers, Keyaru found out a way to reverse time to before he had been chosen as a hero, and thusly became a new hero, one who could only be called that in title, for he would become cruel villainous and delusional.
In this new reality, Keyaru plotted to avenge on those who had betrayed, tortured and broken him. After brutally disrobing, torturing and raping Princess Flare Arlgrande Jioral who tormented him leadly, and many others of which most weren’t deserving in any respect. Keyaru used his healing powers to change her face and wipe out all of her memories. Taking up the identity of "Keyarga", the vengeful boy left behind any vestiges (except for when he gained new ones to have a deus ex machina against king Jioral) to continue his quest of vengeance by eliminating the Jioral kingdom's royal family and killing the kingdom's knights, attendants and eventually the equally fake heroes. He lured the falsely heroes into a trap individually. After he murdered Trist and brainwashed Norn, he later made the whole villages to face the Jioral kingdom after revealing the Kingdom never shielded humanity due to their true nature of cruelties when they enslaved and murdered innocent people and demi-humans. After killing the evil King Jioral, Keyarga took the throne and became the new king to change the Jioral kingdom as a better and peaceful kingdom with an iron fist. However, the revenge is not over and never know peace yet until the last of the equally fake heroes, Bullet is dead including a new threat from Grantsbach Empire, so he must he must completely avenge and make the world even more peaceful as the Hero of Recovery as well as the new Jioral king with his harem girls. After eliminating Bullet and the Grantsbach Empire, Keyarga finally exacted his revenge and achieved peace, despite becoming a tyrant himself essentially.

Before being betrayed, Keyarga started off as a weak willed but a kindhearted young man who had rather simple dreams and became excited after realizing that he was one of the Heroes who would save the world. However, he became frightened and didn't want to use his Healing skills after realizing that he takes their pain and memories after healing them.
However, after being betrayed, drugged, enslaved, tortured, beaten and raped by men and women who wanted to break their level caps from the capital for an extended period of time, Keyarga became a rather sadistic, perverted, vindictive, manipulative, cunning and misanthropic rapist, who would do whatever it takes to achieve vengeance on anyone who has done him any wrong. He has discarded almost all his former kindhearted and generous nature, although he doesn't typically involve normal citizens around him his actions do usually cause them harm.
Despite his descent to madness, Keyaru treats all his charges with compassion because he realized they respond to it better than cruelty. He treasures them and their loyalty so they're eager to help him carry out his vengeance or their own because he brainwashed them, and he doesn't have to worry about betrayal, or find replacements all the time. Likewise, he doesn’t go out of his way to harm innocents but will let them die if he doesn’t have the urge to save them at the moment, as he reserves his vengeance towards those who have wronged him, except for when he doesn’t, numerous times, causing harm and inhumane cruelty to those for merely being in his way at some points, the only justification the author giving is that the people were evil or cruel all along, such as him aiding the slave market, willingly allowing innocent people to die on multiple occasions, and being a general hypocrite with his punishments. Amazingly enough, he does still enjoy doing good things purely for their own sake even when he doesn't immediately profit from it.
