Kiara Carrera is one of the tritagonists (alongside Pope and Cleo) of the Netflix TV Show Outer Banks.
She is an important member of The Pogues, as the second in command, who acts as a big sister to everyone else. She was actually born into a rich family part of the Kooks on the other side of the OBX island of North Carolina, but they live in a more practical way than the other Kooks, and that is another reason why she is a Puge and feels like one, since she feels it in her heart and wants to live adventure and freedom and does not want and does not feel like being a Kook at all.
She is also a very attractive girl who manages to attract the attention of many boys, despite the Pudges having a "no Pogue-on-Pogue macking" rule, and this creates some problems for her, since in season 1 she has a love kiss with John B, but a short one because he then gets together with Sarah and in season 2 a short one with Pope. However, in season 3 she has a definitive one with JJ.

Personality[]
Kiara is always shown to be caring, affectionate, loyal and selfless towards her friends. Kiara is also very intelligent and responsible and that is why she is usually the one in charge when John B is not present, she is also very mature and usually acts like a big sister to the other members of the Pogues, and sometimes she is a little too serious. Initially she does not want to have a boyfriend because she considers them poor and a bad influence for girls, although after a while she starts to change her mind after she starts to feel something for her friends Pogues. She usually disapproves of JJ's ideas because she considers them too dangerous and reckless, but in reality she loves the dangers of adventure, showing that she is reckless too and loves fun and adventure, and then she also gets together with JJ because of one of his qualities.
Kiara has a bit of a hippie behavior because she smokes a little and has an addiction to it and she loves to talk often calmly and relax. This changes when she gets agitated and nervous because when she wants she can be really threatening when she is angry. She doesn't like other girls joining the Pugdes, especially Sarah Cameron since that inconvenience happened when they were kids, but then she changes and they become best friends again and this flaw changes.
Kiara is also very determined and stubborn and doesn't like her parents telling her what to do and that's why she's with The Pudges instead of the Kooks, even if she's conflicted by this showing that she actually loves her parents.
History[]
Early years[]
Kiara was born into a rich family on BOX Island to her father Mike Carrera and mother Anna Carrera, who work in a restaurant where Kiara sometimes helps them. When she was in middle school, she was friends with Sarah Cameron, but then due to an incident where he didn't invite her to his birthday they broke up together. She met John B with whom they spent a shell fishing and became best friends and since then she has become a Puge leaving the Kooks.
Season 1[]
Kiara tries to help John B find the Royal Merchant with the gold that John B's father was looking for. During the season, she kisses him on the cheek and then he kisses her on the mouth, but she rejects him because of his idea for the boys. When Sarah is trying to join the Pudges, Kiara is quite against the idea because she still has it in for her, but then the boys leave the two on a broken boat for a day in the middle of the river and they make up.
In the end when Rafe kills Sheriff Peterkin and Ward accuses John B, Kiara helps John B escape the island on a boat, only to be discovered by the authorities who follow him and Sarah who end up in a storm apparently committing suicide and Kiara is very sad with the others for this.
Seosn 2[]
Kie, JJ and Pope carve a heart on a tree in honor of John B, who they assume died in the storm, but he is actually with Sarah in Nassau, Bahamas. Kie and Pope write "murderer" on Ward's estate and Kie even calls Rafe a Cop murderer. This sparks romance between Kie and Pope but then they break up and then when John B sends a picture of him and Sarah, Kiara and the others realize that he is actually alive and are overjoyed. Then they end up on a deserted island with a new Puge named Cleo Anderson.
Season 3[]
A month spent on the island they call "Pougeland", Kiara grows closer to JJ who also teaches her to fish in a primitive way and also becomes very good friends with Cleo. When a plane arrives on their island, all the Pouge accept, but they soon discover that the pilot does not have good intentions and so they crash the plane into the sea surviving, but Kiara stops to beat up the pilot, but is kidnapped in the meantime by his accomplices who take her away in a car and her friends follow her to save her and arrive to a mansion called Vaux Hall.
Although, Kiara thinks that the person responsible for her kidnapping is Ward Cameron, she soon discovers that it is a Don named Carlos Singh who is looking for El Dorado. Although Kiara begs him, Singh has her locked up with Rafe, who was invited only to be taken hostage and to help Singh. Although Kiara does not trust Rafe, he convinces her that if they want to escape, they must work as a team and they succeed. Then Kiara, even though she trusts Rafe a little, steals his boat and sends the position to her friends who join her.
