Heroine Overview

Enough money? How much is that exactly? Pay your debts with your own money. I'm going to use mine to raise my baby!
~ Jun-hee to Lee Myung-gi.
Gi-hun: No. Jun-hee, don't. Wait! No! I'll get there! You'll make it through. Jun-hee!
Jun-hee: Please don't come. Just stay there! If you don't survive, my baby will die too. You said the most important thing was saving my little girl. That's what I'm trying to do right now. Watch over her.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

Jun-hee lost her parents at a young age and has no one to support her. She later started dating Lee Myung-gi, a well-known YouTuber called MG Coin, and got into cryptocurrency. Following his advice, she invested in a coin named Dalmatian but ended up losing a lot of money when it turned out to be a scam. Soon after, she broke up with Myung-gi.

In early 2024, Jun-hee found out she was pregnant with Myung-gi's child. He was aware of this and suggested she have an abortion, but she chose not to. After Myung-gi disappeared for six months, Jun-hee feared he might have been killed by someone he had scammed.

She plays ddakji against a recruiter, a game she excels at, winning more often than he does. After winning a card from him, she goes to a gynecology appointment. While there, she tries to call Myung-gi, but he doesn’t pick up, which leads her to leave before seeing the doctor. Unbeknownst to her, Myung-gi was also meeting with a recruiter at that same time.

2024[]

Jun-hee wakes up in the dormitory and sees Myung-gi when one of the guards confronts him. She also spots two of his former subscribers, Thanos and Nam-gyu, who he had scammed, but she chooses not to reveal herself to him.

All the contestants take part in "Red Light Green Light." Jun-hee hides behind Jang Geum-ja in the line. She starts to feel intense stomach pain and accidentally bumps into Geum-ja. The older woman is kind and tells her to lean on her for support. Despite her discomfort, Jun-hee manages to pass the game and votes "X" to end it. Later, Geum-ja approaches her and gives her an egg from her meal, having figured out that Jun-hee is pregnant. She explains that the pain is due to Jun-hee pressing on her stomach and offers help if needed before her son, Park Yong-sik, arrives to take her away.

Jun-hee witnesses Thanos and Nam-gyu attacking Myung-gi, but Player 001 intervenes. Afterward, she approaches Myung-gi, thinking he was ignoring her, only to find out he didn’t know she was in the games. He questions why she is there, and she reminds him that he scammed her too. He is frustrated to learn she didn’t have an abortion. She tells him he is the reason she can’t go home and protect their baby since he voted "O," and she came to see him not to reconcile but to check on his injuries.

When the next game is announced as a team game, Jun-hee finds herself alone without allies. Myung-gi asks to team up, but she declines. Instead, she approaches Gi-hun, Player 001 ("Young il"), Park Jung-bae, and Kang Dae-ho to join their team. Even though they just picked a fifth member, they agree to help her. As the games for the pentathlon are revealed, the team suggests playing Gonggi, calling it a "girl's game." However, Jun-hee admits she doesn’t know how to play and asks to play Ddakji instead. The team feels discouraged when they see the first few groups getting eliminated, but they continue.

She was not part of the players planning the rebellion because she was pregnant. Still, she showed her emotional side when she cried in the bathroom, sharing her fears for herself and her unborn child with Geum-ja.

Jun-hee initially treated her ex-boyfriend, Myung-gi, coldly, even saying he was dead to her. However, after he saved her several times in the Mingle game, she began to care about his safety. Recognizing what he did to protect her, she advised him to hide when the lights went out and later persuaded him not to join the revolt.
