Biography[]
Early Life[]
King Daltus was born in the land of Hyrule during its early years, many decades prior to the events of The Minish Cap. He is also the descendant of the late King Gustaf.
Growing up, Daltus took an interest in swordsmanship, proving himself to be one of the most talented fighters in the land. He eventually competed in the Picori Festival's annual Sword-Fighting Tournament, where he made it to the finals. He battles his competitor, Smith, but the two proved to be an even match, with their duel ending in a draw. In the years after, Daltus and Smith became close friends.
At some point, Daltus married an unnamed woman who gave birth to a daughter, Princess Zelda. The unnamed queen's fate is unknown, but by the time of The Minish Cap, Daltus is raising Zelda on his own. Zelda grew up to become best friends with Smith's grandson, Link. Daltus himself approves of their closeness and becomes fond of Link as well, oblivious to the boy's true nature as the reincarnation of the legendary Hero of the Sky.
