Kipo is a minor character in Rio. His name is never revealed during his two only scenes. He is a Roseate Spoonbill with pink and white feathers and brown webbed feet. He is voiced by Bernardo de Paula, probably an actual Brazilian, who also voiced the best security guard at the aviary, Sylvio. It is possible that he was one of the birds with Tulio Monteiro in his aviary. He is voiced by Bernado de Paula who also voiced Sylvio, the best security guard at Tulio's aviary.
He dances and plays maracas at the samba club which Blu, Jewel, Rafael, Nico and Pedro attend while waiting for the awaiting trolley to Luiz's garage. When the monkeys interrupt and their leader, Mauro, attempts to get Blu and Jewel to come with him under Nigel's orders and the latter's threat of "flying lessons" for all monkeys and Mauro calls Rafael "big nose" for asking for them all to get along, Kipo tells Mauro, "You mess with my friends, you mess with me." (To which, most of the other birds add "And us!"). When Pedro declares a Birds vs. Monkeys war, Kipo fights with some of them. When a trolley is passing, Kipo gives the two blue macaws a lift with his feet, but a group of the monkeys grab onto them until they catch the wire, making it hard. As soon as Nico uses his bottlecap hat to knock the monkeys out, Kipo manages to put the macaws on the roof of the trolley. As soon as Blu thanks him, Kipo flies off and is never seen in the movie again.
