Kira is the deuteragonist and former main antagonist of Netflix's television series Dogs in Space.

She was voiced by Debra Wilson.

Appearance[]

Kira is a tall anthropomorphic husky dog with blue eyes and purple fur. She wears a dark blue jumpsuit, orange rubber boots, a gold shoulder pad, and a scarf wrapped around her neck.

In the first episodes of the series, she had normal dog paws. When she was genetically modified her paws became more humanized.

Personality[]

Because of her tragic past of being abandoned by her owner Olga, Kira developed a habit of doing everything herself and never trusting anyone, which led her to stay away from other dogs.

This after a while makes her unsocial, withdrawn and shy and as a result it was easier for her to fight with the other dogs than to talk to them.

Biography[]

After the Earth was destroyed, dogs were sent from Earth to space for them to find a new planet, and Kira once had the same goal. In one of her missions she ended up falling on an unknown planet for three months. She kept sending messages to humans on Earth and to the M-Bark dogs asking for a rescue but no one came to rescue her.

Thinking that her owner had forgotten about her, Kira became angry with humans and spent some time killing other monsters and eating their flesh to survive, until after a long time Captain Garbage and his crew showed up and discovered her.

After much insistence, Kira accepted to be part of the crew and she, together with her new friends, went to the M-Bark and there she decided to adapt to her new home.

But when Kira came to the M-Bark, she wasn't friendly to anyone, anyone who started a conversation would be her target, until she met Nomi, who was the first dog in Kira's life with whom she actually started a friendship.

At the end of the series, Kira betrays Garbage's trust and expels him from the ship along with Captain Happy, and then she sets up a mound in the in-bark, transforming all the dogs (except the Pluto crew) into normal dogs.

Garbage goes back to the M-Bark and his goal is to get all the dogs on the ship back to normal, but Kira tries to stop him, with the help of friends he manages to show Kira that Olga doesn't avia if she forgot her and that she did everything to find her again.

After seeing her message, Kira regrets everything she did and turns off the device making everyone go back to normal, before the duchess learns from all her crimes he tries to convince her that it wasn't her fault and begs to give her a second chance to redeem herself.

The board members ended up accepting the garbage request and they send Kira back ashore to try to re-find her owner and visit her friend's Garbage owner.

Trivia[]

  • Kira is an evil counterpart to Garbage, since before she was shipwrecked on an unknown planet she also had a lot of love for her owner and did everything to try to find a perfect planet with the intention of making her proud as well as the garbage.
  • Although Kira is the main antagonist of the series, she never did her crimes with malicious intent.
