Kirby O'Neil is a major character in the 2012 TV series incarnation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He is April O'Neil’s father.
He was voiced by Keith Silverstein.
Appearance[]
Kirby is a middle-aged man with the little hair he has, as he is bald on his head, and has an orange mustache and beard and his eyes are blue. For clothing he wears a gray t-shirt with a brown jacket over it, with light brown jeans and dark brown shoes on his legs.
In his orange bat mutant form, he still has a bit of a beard, has a huge green vein on his huge head with disproportionate size with huge bat wings and ears. His left arm was normal, but his right was smaller, with a purple and green vein all over his body and a small tail.
Personality[]
Kirby is an intelligent psychologist who can deduce facts. He is also shown to be very protective of his daughter April, which he becomes overprotective of after the Kraang kidnap them, and even after they are rescued due to the fact that he was very traumatized by what happened he remains overprotective. He also proves to be very altruistic and suicidal thinking only of the turtles who have to save the city and of April he saves.
History[]
When the Kraang attacked them, they came for April, but since Kirby was with her, they took him too. However, the Turtles intervened, but only saved April, they failed to save Kirby. The Kraang held him hostage to have April, also mutated a pigeon that Kirby taught to speak and gave them freedom to warn April of the imminent danger of the Kraang. At the end of the first season, he was also brainwashed into handing his daughter over to the Kraang, but the Turtles resolved the situation.

- Mr. O' Neil's first name is a reference to the legendary comic book creator and artist Jack "The King" Kirby, the idol and role model of TMNT creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
