Kiryl is the character of Dragon Quest IV.
Appearance[]
Kiryl wears a green and white Kalimavkion resembling a cross between a Napoleonic-era shako and a priest's mitre hat, along with a green overcoat and a white long-sleeved undershirt. He carries a long and narrow sword on his back, and keeps a muted orange scarf around his neck.
Personality[]
Kiryl is loyal to Alena, as shown when he immediately runs after her when she escapes. It is also apparent that he has a crush on the princess as well. Beyond his relationship with Alena, Kiryl is a very studious and a dedicated young man with a deep sense of faith; he has been training for some time to take over as the resident priest of Zamoksva and his room is filled with religious texts.
Story[]
Kiryl and Borya, Alena's retainers, give chase when they learn that Alena had snuck out of the castle. Knowing that they are unable to make her stay put, they accompany her, not wanting her to travel alone. The three come across a village that is being terrorized by a monster who keeps on demanding young girls as a sacrifice. After Alena makes the demon show its true self, they battle the demon and slay it, saving the village.
Kiryl, Alena, and Borya reappear in Chapter 5, when Kiryl has fallen under a dangerous fever and is bedridden in Mintos. Alena and a band of three mercenaries set out to the supposed location of the Feverfew root to try and obtain some to cure Kiryl, but they are unsuccessful. However, the Hero succeeds, and upon learning of their destiny the three immediately join the party for the remainder of the game. Sometime later, they return to Zamoksva, finding the cause of its troubles to be the demon Baalzack, whom they kill in retaliation.
