Klein Sieben

Klein Sieben is a supporting character from the American animated webseries RWBY. He is the former butler of the Schnee family who also serves as a doctor.

He is voiced by J. Michael Tatum, who also voiced Sebastian Michaelis in the English dub of Black Butler, Scar in the English dub of Fullmetal Alchemist, Tenya Ida in the English dub of My Hero Academia, and Erwin Smith from the English dub of Attack on Titan.

Biography[]

While little is known about Klein Sieben's past, it is known that he has dissociative identity disorder, though he seems to be able to shift between his personalities at will (or, at the very least, is mostly unaffected when a shift occurs). For many years, he served as the butler for the prestigious Schnee Family, and was an active participant in the childhoods of all three of the Schnee children. He developed a particularly strong bond with Weiss Schnee, who viewed him as a member of the family.

Following the Fall of Beacon Academy and Weiss returning home, Klein cheers her up by making her coffee and mocking her corrupt father. Later, when Weiss masters her Summoning ability and elects to sneak out and go help her friends in Mistral, Klein aids her by heloing her sneak out a secret passageway.

However, Jacques, possibly learning of Klein helping Weiss escape, fires him. Klein goes to put his medical knowledge to work as a doctor.

When Weiss and her allies return with an injured Nora Valkyrie, Whitley Schnee calls Klein in for help. Klein is happy to be of assistance, and treats Nora until she wakesup and begins to recover. However, a damaged Penny Polendina is brought to him next. Despite being mechanical, Klein applies his medical knowledge as best he can, attempting to repair her. When the power goes out, Ruby Rose and Blake Belladonna go to turn it back on, but are attacked by the intelligent Grimm known as the Hound. Additionally, Penny is hacked by the villainous Dr. Arthur Watts, and she pushes Klein aside to carry out her new mission.

Later, Klien pilots the airship to get the heroes to the Vault of the Winter Maiden. He evacuates the city with Willow and Whitley, and later safely evacuates to Vacuo as the city falls.

Appearance[]

Klein is a short, heavyset man. He has balding brown hair and a large brown mustache. His eye color changes depending on his personality, with light blue being his typical color, light brown when he is acting as a doctor, red when he is grumpy, yellow when happy, pink when bashful, lavender when sleepy, and light green when dopey or compassionate. He typically wears black and white suits as well as a bowler hat.

Powers and Abilities[]

Klein seems to be able to shift between his personalities as he wishes, or, at the very least, is left mostly the same with only slight differences in his voice and disposition.

Klein is well-versed in service duties and hospitality, being regarded as a excellent cook. His most prominent ability is his array of medical knowledge, which allows him to treat a variety of ailments.

Like all beings with a soul, Klein likely possesses an Aura, a physical defense generated by his soul. Aruas typically have to be unlocked through mental concentration or outside aid, and rarely are used outside of combat or defense; as such, Klein has yet to be shown using an Aura, but Klein being a living being with a soul indicates that he, at the very least, has the capability of using one.
