1000px-KlungoNB

Klungo was Gruntilda's first faithful minion in the Banjo-Kazooie series before Piddles took over. He used to be an enemy of Banjo and Kazooie but changed his ways and became a heroic supporting character.

History[]

Banjo-Kazooie[]

Klungo first appeared as a villain in this game but is only seen during cutscenes. He assisted his mistress Gruntilda in preparing a machine to steal the youth and beauty of Banjo's little sister Tooty. However, Banjo and Kazooie manage to foil Grunty's plans and leave the witch stuck beneath a massive boulder. Klungo is last seen attempting to push the rock off Grunty, but with no success.

During the Game Over sequence, Klungo activates Gruntilda's beauty-stealing machine before announcing that the heroes have failed to stop them.

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge[]

Klungo's role has expanded in this game, although he is still a villain. After spending two months trying to free Gruntilda from her underground prison, Klungo decides to build the witch a new mechanical body called "Mecha-Grunty" for her spirit to inhabit and control. Klungo serves as the boss of several worlds and is responsible for creating various monsters to harm Banjo and Kazooie. After Grunty is defeated again on top of her lair, her spirit is forced back into her original body and Klungo is instructed by his mistress to send a message to her sisters.

Banjo-Tooie[]

In this sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, Klungo has now spent a total of two years trying to push the boulder off of Gruntilda. But he soon admits defeat after Grunty's sisters arrive to destroy the rock themselves with their magic. After the boulder is finally gone, Klungo cheers for joy as his skeletal mistress finally emerges from where she was buried before giving her a celebratory pat on the back, causing Grunty's eye to fall out. The three witches leave Klungo in Spiral Mountain where he decides to ambush Banjo and Kazooie inside a nearby tunnel.

He is fought three times in the game and each time Klungo is defeated he returns to Gruntilda so he can be beaten for his failure. However, after his third defeat at Caldron Keep, Klungo realised that his continued beatings had effected his appearance so much that Mrs. Klungo might not find him handsome and decides to leave Grunty's employ in favor of a desk job making video games.
