Kokichi Muta, or better known as through puppet alias Mechamaru, is a supporting character from the manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. He is a jujutsu sorcerer and a second-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High. Since birth, most of his limbs are practically unusable and he has a frail body that is the result of Heavenly Restriction. Therefore, he only is present at Kyoto High by controlling one of his Mechamaru robots.
Later during the Shibuya Incident, he is revealed to have betrayed the sorcerers by sharing highly important information with Kenjaku and Mahito in return for gaining a normal body, through a Binding Vow. However, Kokichi's intention was never to meant to harm anyone but only to achieve his dream of finally meeting his classmates in person.
Kokichi is mostly seen interacting with his classmates as Mechamaru, a human-life-size robot seemingly made out of wood with small emerald eyes and a spiral sign in the middle above. The puppet wears the standard jujutsu sorcerer black uniform that Kokichi also wears with a grey thick collar.
Kokichi's dream of finally gaining a normal body to meet his friends in person.
Kokichi in person is first seen in a bathtub surrounded by numerous tubes that provides the substances inside his bathtub. His body is almost completely covered with white bandages aside from his eyes and mouth, with a long knot coming out behind his head. His head has also a lot of his hair left out and most notably, he only possesses half of his right arm since birth due to Heavenly Restriction.
Once healed by Mahito, he has a somewhat muscular build and has naturally the appearance of a young man. All of his abnormal appearances were healed except a noticeable large fang-shaped scar on the left side of his face.
Personality[]
As Mechamaru, Kokichi's nature could naturally not exactly be seen through his verbal communications as a robot while still trying his best to cooperate with his sorcerer comrades. Confronting Panda, a student from Tokyo Jujutsu High, Mechamaru declined his friendly proposal request for them to get along since they both have a thing one thing in common, as both are cursed corpses.
Kokichi felt irritated as he engaged in a destructive battle against his fellow corpse and looked furious as he screamed his attack's names as Mechamaru. With his defeat against Panda who tells him that he can help him with the hardships he has. This leads Kokichi to dream of having his actual body to be able to one day interact with his classmates in person and on his bare feet. This dream was so impactful that he even accepted a Binding Vow, a pact with the enemies, Mahito and Kenjaku just to make his dream real by finally gaining a normal body for the first time. However, doing this was also a betrayal to the sorcerers as he gives major information that was asked by the enemies.

Kokichi in person is a calculative and very self-confident individual, concluding that his chance of winning against Mahito is at the same level as Satoru Gojo. For a relatively long period of time, Kokichi is shown to have observed seemingly every single moment of Mahito in battles, knowing that the attack of Mechamaru will not inflict damage to Mahito's soul. His level of knowledge of the enemy was close enough to help him in defeating the disaster curse. However, his level of confidence was too much, leading him to believe that he is finished with Mahito and conclude that he could even take on Kenjaku, resulting in his death as Mahito breaks into his prototype.

Puppet Manipulation: His cursed technique allows him to telepathically control robots at an incredible vast range, extending over the entire Japan.
As Mechamaru[]
Sword Option: Mechamaru can form his wooden fingers into razor-sharp blades, which can also be elongated.
Ultra Spin: Mechamaru turns one his hand into a drill by starting to rotate his hand at an immense speed along with a jetpack at his elbow that is responsible for Mechamaru to charge at his opponent at an alarming speed. The damage this attack can cause is enought to destroy a tree.
Ultra Shield: Mechamaru turns his arm into a flail to counter his opponent's attacks. It was however not durable enough against Panda's paws which easily broke them.
Boost On: Mechamaru flies by unleashing jetpack from his elbow similarly to his Ultra Spin attack.
Ultimate Mechamaru - Mode: Absolute.
Ultra Canon: Mechamaru unleashes a powerful light beam from his hand palm. This was enough to force Panda into transforming into his gorilla form.
Mode: Albatross: Mechamaru now unleashes a more powerful light beam from his mouth, by modifying it into a cannon.
Ultimate Cannon: Possibly his most powerful canon, which unleashes an even more damaging light beam that is far larger and destructive as it easily damaged the ground when it was fired at Panda.

Kokichi Muta pilotes a robot of colossal size, far taller than a dam as he is about to face Mahito. The cockpit is located at the head of the robot and is powered by the immense cursed energy that he has been preserved exactly since birth, which is seventeen years, five months, and six days. Kokichi decides how much energy he is about to spend depending on the respective attack.

Kokichi's battle against Mahito showcased a few references from other anime series.
When Ultimate Mechamaru emerged to face Mahito, its scream is a direct reference to Shinji Ikari's Eva from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Kokichi's scream and facial expression appeared to be directly referencing to Simon's scream from Gurren Lagan during one the series' own major fight.
Mahito breaking into Kokichi's cockpit with a drill is another reference to the series.
