Komondomon is a Champion-level Digimon that saves the weak and dashes across the land. One acts as the main form of transportation to the Chosen Ones throughout much of their adventure in the Digital World.
He is voiced by Daisuke Yokoyama in the Japanese version.
History[]
According to Lopmon, during the ancient war, Komondomon were old friends of the Army of Light, saving the weak Digimon and dashing across the lands.
While on the run from evil Digimon, Lopmon leads Taichi, Sora, their partners and Lopmon's own friends to where five Komondomon are slumbering beneath the ground. As WarGreymon and Garudamon hold off a group of attacking Digimon, Lopmon awakens the Komondomon and the group escapes on them. Lopmon sends three of the Komondomon off to find and rescue Digimon who desire peace before departing on a fourth Komondomon with his friends. Lopmon instructs the last Komondomon, the leader, to help Taichi and Sora to find their friends before they go their separate ways.
Komondomon helps Taichi and Sora to find their friends and then he continues to serve as the Chosen Children's main form of transportation throughout the land, getting caught up in their adventures on a few occasions such as when Joe has Komondomon steered in front of an attacking Jyagamon so that he can use the bubbles still covering Komondomon from his recent bubble bath to neutralize Jyagamon's attack. During this particular adventure, a few other Komondomon are present with Yamato placing a rescued Digimon on one's back. After Taichi and WarGreymon are thought to have been killed, Komondomon shakes off some flowers in an attempt to cheer up Hikari. He later joins the other Digimon and the Digital World itself in sending their hope to WarGreymon to power up his Terra Force so that he can destroy ZeedMillenniummon for good.
Following ZeedMillenniummon's destruction, Lopmon leaves with Spadamon, Falcomon, two Peckmon, two Frimon, Xiaomon and Puroromon on one of the other Komondomon to search for a new home for every Digimon who lost their home to Millenniummon. This group is sometimes seen together with Leomon and their Komondomon.
After ZeedMillenniummon's destruction, Komondomon carries the Chosen Ones to the Great Tree of Knowledge and later transports part of the group to the Hot Springs in order to help Patamon and Gatomon recover. He later transports Takeru, Hikari and their partners on their search for the true power of their Crests. After their quest is over, Komondomon transports them back to the Tree, but Patamon digivolves into Pegasusmon to get them there faster upon learning that the Tree is under attack by the Soundbirdmon.
When Negamon rises, he sucks the children into his white void, leaving their partner Digimon behind. Wisemon, Garbagemon and Searchmon repeatedly attempt to help them reach the void, but they are blocked each time by a swarm of Champion Argomon. Finally, as they fall out of the sky once again, Komondomon suddenly flies up by using his tail as a propeller and manages to fling the Digimon past the blockade. Calling out that everyone is counting on them, Komondomon falls into the water below.
Komondomon survives his fall and watches the final battle with Wisemon, Garbagemon and Searchmon. Afterwards, he is present when Lopmon gives a speech on the human world, but Komondomon is fast asleep rather than actually paying attention to him. A second Komondomon is also present and is listening intently to Lopmon.

Trivia[]
- The Komondomon who transports the Chosen Children has a red helmet unlike the others who all have gray helmets. This distinguishes him from the others in episodes and scenes where there are multiple Komondomon present.
- Komondomon typically doesn't speak beyond barking out "Komondo" from time to time. The only exception to this is in "The Great Catastrophe, Negamon" when he tells the Digimon partners that everyone is counting on them.
