Konatsu (小夏 Konatsu) is a character in the manga version of Ranma ½. Despite apparenting and dressing as a girl, Konatsu is actually male.
Biography[]
As a child, his mother passed away and his father remarried with Kotetsu. Shortly, his father died and his stepfanily forced him to do all the menial work. After Happosai, followed by Ranma and Genma destroyed the Red Hot Tea House Kunoichi, his stepfamily sent him to avenge the Tea House. Altough he initially confronted Happosai, Ranma and Ukyo (who Konatsu fell in love) then Ranma, Akane and Ukyo convinced him to confront his stepfamily with his ninja abilities and together defeated them. After the fight is revealed that Konatsu is biologically male. Then Konatsu is happy to have friends who cares him and now lives with Ukyo working at Okonomiyaki Ucchan's, attracting male students of the Furinkan High.
Abilities[]
Konatsu is a master of conventional ninjutsu. Capable to use weapons like swords, kunai, shuriken and smoke bomb and techniques like the Split-Body Technique, Sixth Sense and the sequence of 100 Hot Towel Barrage, Snack Hail and Drink Srike. He is capable to use consumables to poison his victims as Knock out drops, the Kunoichi Secret Breast Pocket Mist, meal poison and the Toshintan.
Trivia[]
- His background story and personality are a reference to Cinderella. As both lived with his abusive stepmother and stepsisters and both are extremely grateful and loyal for the least amount of kindness.
- He is the second character of Ranma ½ to be a male to female cross-dresser and to be a suitor of Ukyo Kuonji. Being the first one Tsubasa Kurenai.
