Krista Sparks is a recurring character in the Twisted Metal series. She is the driver of Grasshopper and the daughter of the host of the contest, Calypso.
She was voiced by Jamie Bard in the second game and by Tara Strong in the seventh game.
Biography[]
Early life[]
20 years earlier before the events of the Twisted Metal contest, Krista to Calypso and Joanie Sparks. However, Calypso got tired of his wife and cheated on her. One day, Joanie was in the audience and tire flew off and killed her. Eventually, Calypso and Krista lived in motel rooms after Joanie's death.
One night, Calypso went to a bar and left Krista in the car to sleep in the back seat. When he leaves the bar, he saw his wife and told him that she's in hell and he should be too. After he agreed, she tells to close his eyes and let go of the wheel. Unfortunately, Calypso had forgotten that his own daughter Krista was in the back seat, leading to her death in the brutal accident.
Twisted Metal 2[]
The LAPD took the opportunity to rebuild and use Krista to plant a bomb in her to take out Calypso. Krista faked her age to join the tournament.
In her ending, Krista drives Grasshopper over the building and reunite with her father. However, it was all a ruse, it was revealed that Krista was a cyborg reconstructed by the LAPD, as she's the only person that Calypso would allow in his direct presence and was wired with a bomb that would detonate once she confronted with Calypso. Before the bomb detonated, Krista says to her father, "Hold me, daddy. I'm Just a Machine now, but I'm afraid the explosion will hurt." Calypso hugged Krista in her final moments just as the bomb detonated and obliterates both of them.
Twisted Metal: Head-On[]
Calypso plans to summons Krista as a ghost from the afterlife as temporary. In order for her to truly live again, she must win the contest and wish for her eternal life back herself.
After winning the contest, Krista drives to the junkyard to face-to-face with her father. Calypso congratulating his daughter, Krista pushes him and accused him of using her for his contest. She then wished that the car accident that she was in never happen. It then shows a flashback of Krista playing on the swings with her father. But revealing to be a dream as Krista has been in a coma for 15 years.
