Kunio (くにお) is the first recurring and protagonist character of the Kunio-Kun series. He serves as the guardian of Nekketsu High School against rival schools and is the captain of his school's Dodgeball team, although he excels at other sports (such as soccer and hockey). Despite his roughed up appearance and scowl, he is deemed a nice person who helps those in need of it.
Kunio is a high-school punk from Nekketsu High who goes around with his friend Riki fighting punks from other schools and gangs, as well as compete against them in various sporting events.
Super Smash Bros.
First appearing in the "River City Smash" event, Kunio appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a ace primary attack spirit that increases the user's power on battering items. His spirit battle is on the Moray Towers stage against Mii Brawler on Toad's costume with increases power on attack power and favors neutral specials.
Kunio serves as the famous guardian of Nekketsu High School against rival schools and is the captain of the school's Dodge Ball team. A righteous delinquent with a strong personality, he has a heart of gold and cannot abandon those who are in trouble. He has a weakness for pretty girls, which often leads to heartbreak.
Although he is the captain of the Dodge Ball club, he excels at other sports and participates in many of the other sports clubs at his school as an assistant, where he displays ace-class skills that exceed the capabilities of regular club members.
