Kurona Yasuhisa (in Japanese: 安久 黒奈, Yasuhisa Kurona) is a secondary antagonist turned supporting character in the Tokyo Ghoul series, playing an antagonistic role in Tokyo Ghoul and a heroic role in it's sequel Tokyo Ghoul:re.
She is an Artificial One-Eyed Ghoul and is the twin sister of Nashiro Yasuhisa who was once a member of the Ghoul Restaurant, the personal bodyguard to Madam A, and an underling of Akihiro Kanou. Years later after being abandoned by Kanou, Kurona would return and merge with her sister as the gruesome creature known as Floppy before eventually joining forces with Ken Kaneki.
She was voiced by Aoi Yūuki in Japanese and both Michelle Lee and Lynsey Hale in English.
Appearance[]
Kurona looks nearly identical her twin Nashiro only with black hair. She had dark hair that has managed to remain intact even following the experiments she endured. Her outfit consists of a dark black cloak with a hood on it that features an eye logo on the top, a black & white vertical-lined mask with a hole on the left eye where her kakugan lies. Following the time skip between the original series :re, Kurona's hair has changed color, she now wears a black cloak and is noticeably taller. Her arms and torso are covered in a grotesque dark colored flesh and has a deformed face on her stomach from her mutation into a ghoul.
Personality[]
While kind-hearted and cheerful during her childhood, Kurona is now very reserved, cold, distant, and nihilistic, behavior that manifests from experiencing the brutal death of her father as a young girl. She has completely rejected her humanity and enjoys being a ghoul believing that humans live in a "twisted world", a belief enforced by Kanou. However, Kurona loves he twin sister more than anything. Being all they have left, the two sisters are willing to abandon missions and even disobey orders if it means protecting each other.
Relationships[]
- Nashiro Yasuhisa: Kurona is very protective and caring towards Nashiro and vise versa. This stems from the fact that she is the only remaining member of her family following the death of both of their parents. Kurona loves her sister deeply and panicked when she was injured by Juuzou to the point of abandoning the mission in both Root A and in the original Manga. It's later revealed that she went to great lengths to saver her sister, even devouring Nashiro out of desperation.
- Akihiro Kanou: Kurona looks up to Kanou much like Nashiro, believing that he was responsible for saving both of them from the morbid world of humanity by turning them into ghouls. They both admire him and refer to Kanou as their father. Years later, Kurona's love for Kanou would turn into hatred abandoning her and Nashiro and now wants to kill him to avenge Nashiro.
- Juuzou Suzuya: Both Kurona and her twin Nashiro have a very hostile relationship with Juuzou. Both twins are not fond of Juuzou's nihilistic and callous view on the world and life of people in general. Her hatred most likely stems from and incident where Juuzou almost killed Nashiro during the Laboratory Raid.

- Intelligence: It was said that she had incredible intelligence as child.
- Strength: Kurona is strong both before and after becoming a ghoul. Her ghoul abilities have increased her strength.
- Hightened Speed and Strength: Akihiro's experiments have increased her strength and speed making her faster and stronger.
