Kuroro (otherwise known as Lock) is a secondary antagonist turned-supporting character in Go! Princess Pretty Cure. He is a former servant of Dyspear who, following his brainwashing being undone, becomes an ally to the cures willing to atone for his actions committed for the sake of helping Dyspear.
He was voiced by Yuki Kaida in Japanese.
Biography[]
Kuroro was once an innocent young fairy who was brainwashed by Dyspear following her attacking him and imprisoning his friends along with their dreams. He then became an enemy of the pretty cures and eventually managed to steal their dress-up keys, thus leaving the girls unable to transform in order to get more despair energy out of them. He then locked up the keys and turned the dreams within them into despair. After the cures infiltrated the castle he turned into a giant Zetsuborg in order to get their keys back, he revealed his true plan to overthrow Dyspear and become the leader of Dys Dark himself. After Haruka frees the keys and the rest of the girls trasnformed, Lock created a giant frog-like monster who easily overpowered the cures. However, Cure Scarlet arrived to help the cures and they unlocked their Dress Up Premium forms and purified Lock using Éclat Espoir, turning him back into Kuroro.
Dyspear, after claiming Noble Academy as her new fortress, managed to regain Lock's body and controlled it to attack the cures. During the fight between Lock and the cures, Close imprisoned the students and staff of the academy and absorbed their despair for Lock to enhance his strength. Allowing him to overpower the Cures and leave them helpless to fight anymore after destroying their weapons. Yui however broke free from her cage and freed the others by reminding them of their own dreams, freeing them as well, thus weakening Lock drastically. Using Grand Printemps, the girls finished him off once and for all. Upon seeing the coat tattered and wrecked, Kuroro approaches it, feeling sympathy for it in spite of it's villainous deeds.
Sfter the final battle, Kuroro returned to Hope Kingdom to train as Miss Shamour's student, with the goals of becoming a royal fairy to atone for the deeds he committed in the past to help Dyspear.
Personality[]
While under Dyspear's control and going by the name of Lock, he was cold and cruel and took great pleasure out of insulting and tormenting his victims. He also proves himself to be two-faced, as he had secretly been secretly aspiring to usurp the throne from Dyspear herself.
After being freed from his brainwashing and becoming Kuroro once again, he is overcome with immense guilt for the actions he previously committed. He becomes shy and antisocial after developing an immense fear of being rejected by others for his past sins. However, following him developing a friendship with Miss Shamour and the pretty cures, he becomes more open to socializing and forming relationships with others, as well as aspiring to become a royal fairy himself to atone for his past deeds.
