~ Kyle Schneider to Solid Snake, Metal Gear. |
Kyle Schneider is a character from Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. In Metal Gear, he was the heroic leader of the Resistance movement in Outer Heaven, advising Solid Snake. In Metal Gear 2, he became an anti-villain, operating as the mercenary Black Ninja in Zanzibar Land.
History[]
Past[]
Kyle Schneider was forcibly recruited to be a part of Outer Heaven's designers, to help design it's main fortress in South Africa. After his wife and child were killed, Kyle joined a underground resistance movement against Outer Heaven, and became it's leader. He planned the organization's activities with an acute inner sense and strong leadership. As well as this, he knew a lot about Outer Heaven's fortress from his time working on it.
Metal Gear[]
When Solid Snake of FOXHOUND was tasked with infiltrating Outer Heaven to rescue a captured agent, Kyle acted as a guide to the rookie. Schneider provided the agent with intelligence about the internal structure of the base, as he was the head of its construction. Kyle was originally presumed deceased after Snake lost his frequency, as the resistance leader was just about to reveal the true identity of Outer Heaven's president, who was seemingly Snake's commanding officer, having been captured by enemy forces.
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake[]
In truth however, Schneider survived, and witnessed the bombing of Outer Heaven by NATO, killing many Resistance members and war orphans. This embittered him to the West, and, with him and his surviving Resistance having been saved by Big Boss, he began to reconsider his vendetta. After being experimented on by NASA, he was transformed into 'Black Ninja', and he later joined Big Boss in Zanzibar Land. After being ordered to kill Solid Snake, Schneider was defeated and mortally wounded. Schneider apologised to his old friend, as there was no real bad blood between them, and gave him advice to find Dr. Marv, before dying of his wounds.
Trivia[]
Kyle shares a striking resemblance to Gray Fox, another anti-villain in the Metal Gear series. Both were originally war operatives and allies to Solid Snake, were forced to become physically peaked ninjas and fought Snake before dying yet redeeming themselves.
