Hey… End this quickly already! I’m so bored… I could die!
~ Lu Bu requesting Cao Cao to execute him quickly, out of total boredom.
I gave it... everything I had... now this... this right here... is what true joy is, huh?
~ Lu Bu’s last words.

Lü Bu is a major character of the manga and the anime Record of Ragnarok. He is also the protagonist of his own spin-off, Valkyrie Apocalypse - the legend of Lü Bu. He was a general of war during the era of the three kingdoms of China, as well as the most powerful warrior in the history of China.

At the Ragnarök tournament, opposing thirteen gods to thirteen humans in a series of thirteen duels and whose outcome would decide on the fate of humanity, Lü Bu is one of the selected historic human thirteen and the first to fight.

He was voiced by Tomokazu Seki in the Japanese dub and by Kaiji Tang in the English dub.

Overview[]

Lü Bu is the strongest warrior of the Three Kingdoms, as well as the strongest man of China. An innate warrior since a young age hopes to meet his equal in battle in the tournament, as in life he was unmatched due to his superhuman power. Among the Einherjar, he's the first one to fight in Ragnarok.

Appearance[]

Lü Bu takes the form of a tall, muscular man covered with battle scars all throughout his body. The most notable scar would be a rather small one on his right cheek. He has waist-long dark hair which is tied into a bun and adorned with two golden antennae-like pheasant tail feathers. He has an Eastern dragon tattoo across the front and back of his torso and shoulders, and 「飛將」("Flying General") tattooed on the right side of his body. He also has a goatee and no eyebrows. Lü Bu wears no clothing on his upper body and no footwear. He wears white baggy pants and a piece of fabric that resembles dragon scales, which is tied by a belt with a large decorated golden lion head buckle. His teeth were like a shark's, exhibiting his status as the apex predator of his war-torn time period. The teeth were usually hidden by his scowling expression.

Personality[]

While Lü Bu fights for the sake of humans, his behaviour is far from the traditional image of a hero. He doesn't has problem in killing countless people so he could find a fight that doesn't bore, adores fighting strong enemies and even his reason to fight in Ragnarok is to find an opponent that can match to his might, rather than to save mankind. As such, even if he's not as bad as Jack the Ripper (being more indifferent and only killing people in the battlefield rather than being actively malicious), he's not as benevolent as Adam or Kojiro.
