Lae'zel, also known as the Githyanki Warrior, is one of the main protagonists of the 2023 fantasy video game Baldur's Gate III. She is the titular main protagonist of her storyline the Githyanki Warrior and one of the two overall tritagonists (alongside Gale Dekarios) of the game's story.
She is a ferocious and courageous Githyanki warrior, known for her zealous devotion to the Lich Queen Vlaakith CLVII. During a mission, she was captured and inflicted with a tadpole by the Illthid Empire. After escaping, she would team up with others who were inflicted with the tadpoles to cure themselves, while seeking to prove herself to her queen.
She is voiced by Devora Wilde.
Appearance[]
Like the majority of her Githyanki kind, Lae'zel is a yellowish-green skin, with black accents below her ochre eyes, cheeks and neck, with a flattened nose and long and pointed ears, with ridges protruding on the back edges, hair kept shoulder-length, is auburn and straight, with a few adorned silver braids running along the side of her head and a small bun on the back. She possess scars, the most prominent that runs from her nose to her chin, gives her the mean look of a seasoned and veteran warrior.
Surprisingly, of all the party companions, Lae'zel is noticeably the shortest out of them all (unless your player is a dwarf, halfling, or gnome), but she tends to stand proud and intimidating towards others.
Personality[]
Like most of her kind, Lae'zel is an arrogant, ruthless, and xenophobic individual, who can be quick to anger, and some of them can be rather petty in general. Proud of her species, she frequently makes comments to the party detailing the nature of her people, often as a means to illustrate githyanki superiority. She can be rough in her expressions and often cares little for the feelings of others, nor does not bother to show any sense of kindness and/or respect towards them. She is so incredibly devoted to Vlaakith, desperate to prove herself to her and does not tolerate anyone insulting her. Of all the party members, Lae'zel is heavily determined to purge the tadpoles inflicted in them and will not hesitate on doing anything to get rid of them, even with the most amoral and questionable choices.
That being said, despite her ruthless and arrogant nature, Lae'zel proves herself to be a loyal and reliable companion. Over time, she begins to grow fond of her companions, even if she tries to hide it sometimes. This is more noticeable when she is romanced, as she softens her nature towards them and enjoys the smallest moments of love between them.
