Past[]

He and his friend, Harold, are famous actors of their home-planet with great dreams of becoming the greatest actors in the cosmos. However, their dreams were shattered when the Nero Empire conquered the planet, resulting in Harold's death. Being unable to properly let out his tears because of his excellent acting skills, Laguna retired from his life as an actor and joined Oasis, so he could battle against the Nero Empire.

Sakura Cosmos Saga[]

Belial Gore arc[]

Chapter 71[]

With the Crew of Edens infiltrating the Belial Gore, Laguna and the other Element 4 are given orders by Drakken Joe to deal with the Edens Zero crew.

Chapter 72[]

As Shiki Granbell cries out his tears of joy from watching E.M. Pino temporarily become a human, Laguna takes the opportunity to turn Shiki into water, due to the latter's tears. Once Shiki is converted into water, Laguna introduces himself as a member of the Element 4 to Weisz Steiner, Homura Kōgetsu, and E.M. Pino.

Chapter 73[]

As Pino starts to cry from Shiki's transformation into water, Laguna uses Pino's tears to turn her into water. Once Pino is turned into water, Laguna announces to Weisz and Homura of how his Ether Gear is capable of turning his victims into water from their tears. Seeing Pino and Shiki as a puddle of water, Weisz orders Laguna to turn them back into their original state, nut the latter simply insults Laguna for his ridiculous clothing. Homura seeing no other options to return Shiki and Pino back into their original state, she decides on fighting Laguna. While Weisz brags on about Laguna's blabbering of his own powers, the latter takes advantages of Weisz's arrogance to stomp his foot.

By having stomped Weisz's foot, Laguna is able to make Weisz cry and convert him into water. Having defeated Weisz, Laguna declares Homura as his last opponent to capture. He proclaims to Homura that he will make her "sopping wet in no time", yet his own words end up being an accidental innuendo to her. Being finished with jokes, Homura pulls out her Soul Blade Ether Gear and Laguna he creates a sword of water to battle her. While they swing their swords towards each other, Homura compliments his swordsmanship, which results in Laguna revealing his tragic backstory to her.

Laguna explains to Homura of his promise he made towards his friend and the death of his friend, but it Homura ends up realizing that the backstory is only to make her cry. Being unable to make Homura cry with the fabricated sob story, he uses different types of tactics that can make her tear up. Laguna tries to elicit tears of joy from Homura and cry sympathetic tears in front of her, but it eventually tires him out. Feeling tired from his many attempts to make her cry, Laguna resorts to yawning in front of her face to force a reflex reaction from her. When all attempts had failed to make Homura cry, Laguna pulls out an Oedo Onion to easily tear up her eyes and transform her body into water.

Having defeated all of his enemies, Laguna stores the liquids of Shiki, Pino, and Homura inside little bottles, yet when he tries to look for Weisz's liquid remains, Laguna instead finds Weisz standing behind a tree. Confused as to how Weisz is still standing, Laguna questions him as to why he hasn't turned into water. To answer Laguna's question, Weisz reveals that he faked his crying through his disguise app. Now aware of all of Laguna's tricks, Weisz transforms himself into Arsenal to prepare for their battle.

Chapter 74[]

As Laguna tries to comprehend Weisz's Arsenal form, the former gets punched in the face, midst the confusion. While Arsenal prepares to lunch a barrage of bullets at him, Laguna defends himself through creating a wave of water. Arsenal, surprised by how the bullets were blocked by water, Laguna warns him to not underestimate the power of water. As Laguna states the efficiency of water, he proceeds to cut Arsenal's armor with the wave of water. In retaliation, Arsenal activates his Vise Cannon to hit Laguna with its pellets, yet it instead gets blocked by a wall of water.

In another attempt to attack Laguna, Arsenal tries to blow him up using Drum Buster, but Laguna easily dodges the attack via moving away with his waves. Right after dodging Arsenal's attacks, Laguna questions him on if he is going to keep on making gratuitous speeches in every attack. However, Arsenal continues to blabber on about his heroic speeches in preparation of releasing his Atlas Flame at Laguna. Believing that the flames will be an easy attack to block, Laguna mocks Arsenal for his stupidity, until realizing that the latter ended up using the flames as a distraction to deliver a powerful punch. Right before Arsenal launches his punch, Laguna throws a large beam of water that partially destroys Weisz's Arsenal suit.

Seeing Weisz's suit slowly be destroyed, Laguna warns him to give up before he kills him from the imminent shutdown of the suit. Rather than give up, Weisz has his suit turn Laguna's beam of water into ice, causing the latter to be shocked. As Laguna witnesses his water get frozen, Weisz takes the chance to directly punch Laguna in the face, successfully defeating him. After having defeated Laguna, Weisz orders him to return his friends back to normal, but he receives an unexpected shot from the distance.

Chapter 81[]

Laguna saves Rebecca Bluegarden from being tortured by Daichi and warns the latter of the punishment Drakken Joe intends to bring for trying to torture Rebecca. Daichi loses his cool at Laguna for interrupting his torture session, but Laguna, unfazed by his words, warns him of Drakken's consequences. Feeling threatened by Laguna's warning, Daichi offers him a chocolate bar so they would keep their conversation a secret from Drakken.

Chapter 82[]

Laguna and the rest of the Element 4 act as bystanders that watches Drakken Joe torment Shiki, Rebecca, Homura, and Weisz in their darkest hour.

Chapter 83[]

From watching Rebecca shed out her tears because of Weisz's arm being chopped off, Laguna comments on how real her tears look. Although Daichi and Fie celebrate sadistically as Drakken shoots Shiki, Laguna remains as the only one showing no emotions.

Chapter 84[]

Laguna enters Rebecca's room, but he finds her to be shivering with fear, so he calms her down by claiming that he isn't the boss. Once Rebecca relaxes, Laguna requests her to eat food and forget about the tragedies that had happened in the past. However, his words do nothing to shake away Rebecca's fears, so he recommends her to take a shower, before leaving her room. While Rebecca showers, she thinks about how Laguna was the kindest towards her when compared to the other Element 4 members.

Chapter 86[]

He gets mentioned in Rebecca's flashback during her explanations on who the Element 4 members are.

Chapter 87[]

Laguna and the Element 4 all stand together to face off against the Crew of Edens. When Fie tries to shoot down the Edens Zero, the Four Shining Stars come out to battle all of the Element Four. Laguna ends up fighting against Witch Regret, while his allies deal with the other Shining Stars.

Chapter 88[]

He charges at Witch in attempt to slash her with his water blades, but she blocks it through a creation of a shield. As Laguna attacks her, he warns her of his dislike when it comes to fighting androids, since he is unable to make them cry. Witch rebuttals him with the argument that androids can cry because of their hearts.

Chapter 90[]

Throughout his battle against Witch, Laguna struggles to keep up with her and finds her to be too powerful to defeat. Witch congratulates him of his skills, and explains to him that he lacks the motives necessary to defeat her and the Four Shining Stars. Witch reveals to Laguna of his past as an actor and his sudden change in working for Drakken, which confuses her in what Laguna is trying to achieve. Being questioned of his motives, Laguna tells her to not mind his business, which Witch also agrees. While Witch does agree with Laguna, she advises him to have an actual reason in their next fight. As she says this, Witch declares her reason to fight for her family, causing Laguna to give out a shocked expression.

Chapter 92[]

Witch unleashes her "Edens Glitter" as her final attack to defeat Laguna. Large sparks of lightning are formed and it causes Laguna to be knocked out from the blast. Having defeated Laguna, Witch expresses her desire to protect her family.

Red Cave arc[]

Chapter 109[]

In the aftermath of the Belial Gore arc, Laguna returns to his role as an actor and is seen residing on Planet Bluegarden's Scheherazade theater. Inside the theater, Laguna disguises himself as an old actor giving a show to an audience. When he finishes his show, the entire audience cheers for him and an actress for their talents. Following the success of the show, Laguna is soon confronted by Witch, Kleene Rutherford, and Jinn. Laguna tries to enforce the rules to force them out, but Witch can clearly see his true face from the hologram disguise.

Seeing that all of them are aware of his true identity, Laguna reveals his face and Witch invites him to join the Edens Zero.

Chapter 110[]

Laguna arrives to the Red Cave and is introduced to the rest of the Edens Zero crew by Witch. Before he came to the Red Cave, he made sure that Witch made him a promise that she won't forget, which she agrees with. Although Weisz, Shiki, and Homura are surprised to find out that one of Drakken's minions are helping them, Laguna assures them that he was never a minion of Drakken. In fact, he only worked for Drakken out of an obligation, but wasn't aware on how old the latter really is. Laguna explains that with the lack of the Element 4 and the life support device, Drakken was never at full power.

While Laguna may want to join the Crew of Edens, Shiki and Weisz are reluctant to do so because of working with Drakken. Noticing Rebecca, Laguna comments on her being Drakken's main objective to find. Rebecca on the other hand opens up to him on how she used Cat Leaper to defeat Drakken, clueing Laguna into realizing the reason on how Drakken and the Element 4 were defeated. Having finished their conversation, Laguna confirms his desire to support the Edens Zero crew on their adventures. While Shiki may have been suspicious of Laguna, Witch reaffirms that Laguna will help them.

As Laguna approaches Shiki, Laguna comments on how surprised he is on Shiki beating Drakken. Shiki desperately requests for Laguna to be friends, but he turns down the offer, only wishing to assist the Crew of Edens on their adventure. As Laguna, Shiki, and Witch approach the fire that is blocking the pathway for the Crew of Edens, they discuss their plans to cross through. Witch strategizes to have Laguna turn Shiki into water and for herself to quickly give Shiki an Ether Coating to protect the latter from the intense fires. Due to Laguna's assistance, he is able to help Shiki find a treasure that will lead to finding Mother.

Chapter 111[]

Hearing Weisz's plan to absorb all of Mother's Ether inside the Red Cave temple, Laguna finds the plan to be impossible because the previous adventurers never attempted to do so. Laguna's idea is further reinforced with Nadia confirming that all of Mother's Ether cannot be absorbed and that it would not make a difference in having an easier time to find Mother. Later when Nadia runs to find Andrew corpse, Laguna is mesmerized from having to watch her emit real tears from her eyes.

Foresta arc[]

Chapter 112[]

Weisz complains about Drakken's crew being let on board inside the Edens Zero, and Laguna is questioned for his reasons for staying on the ship. Laguna answers Weisz that he is on the Edens Zero because of a pact he had made with Witch. As Weisz slowly gets angrier, Laguna promises him that he will leave the Edens Zero once he has accomplished what he is looking for. When questioned by Kleene of his motives, Laguna answers his desire to live a comfortable life in the Aoi Cosmos. Shiki again request Laguna to be friends together, but Laguna rejects the offer, causing Shiki to feel dejected.

In a table together with Kleene and Kris, Laguna discusses with them on their experiences when they all once worked for Drakken. Laguna admits that he believed he has innocent in working for Drakken, but was quickly creeped out from learning Drakken's true nature. Due to Drakken's goal of wanting to live longer, Kris reveals to Laguna on how Weisz's mother was a victim of Drakken's life support machine. As the conversation reaches its end, Laguna admits to the two that he will leave the Edens Zero once he finds a comfortable planet to live.
