Lance Bean was Bill Rizer's partner as well as one of the main protagonists of the Contra series. He was one of the most well-known members of the Contra guerrilla task force. He is based upon Sylvester Stallone. His name is a tribute to actors Lance Henriksen and Michael Biehn, who appeared in the movie Aliens. Later, he became the main antagonist in Contra: Shattered Soldier and died prior the era of Neo Contra.
Abilities[]
Lance is a highly trained and very well-armed, guerilla military “Contra” commando fighting in the most dangerous war zones, battlefields and even sites of alien invasions.
Personality and Traits[]
Compared to Bill, Lance is more reckless, scrappier and more hotheaded. He has a slightly more ruthless edge as well. Likewise, he intends to find the truth, as he is a lot more suspicious of his superiors, the Triumvirate (a council that represents the highest authority in charge of the Earth's ruling government). Lance tries to find information about the real truth behind the alien invasions in the past, but it ends up landing him in trouble.

- Both Lance Bean and Bill Rizer (The Contra Duo) are comparable to Rambo from First Blood and John Matrix from Commando with the similarities between video game characters/heroes and 1980s action movie/film characters/heroes and the portrayal of the 2 legendary actors from the 1980s, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
