Lance Sweets is a major character in the fox series Bones. He is an FBI Psychologist who is assigned to work with Temperance Brennan and Seeley Booth. The two initially dislike him but they ultimately bond and he becomes one of their most loyal allies,
He was played by John Francis Daley.
Biography[]
Sweets is introduced in the third season where he is constantly disrespected by his two clients despite moments of sympathy towards him like when he and his girlfriend break up. Booth gradually grew to respects Sweets as he proved useful on multiple occasions in in catching killers but Brennan took longer as she had little respect for psychology. When Booth faked his death as part of a plan to stop a criminal Sweets didn't pass on his message to Brennan informing her that he was alive which Brennnan punched him for.
When Gordon Wyatt made them realise Sweets had been abused as a child it make Booth and Brennan feel bad due to also having rough childhoods and they made the conscious effort to be more friendly towards him. Sweets later tried to help a rape victim, sympathizing with her in part due to his past of being abused which he opened up to her about. Sweets was successful in solving the case. Booth later revealed to him that he deduced it first but allowed him to uncover the mystery.
He dated his colleague Daisy Wick but it didn't work out. When Sweets needed a place to stay one was provided by Brennan and Booth, which he greatly appreciated. Sweets briefly left his job after Christopher Pelant used his psychological profiles on the team against them but missed his friends and ultimately returned.
Sweets was ultimately killed on the orders of Glen Durant. Prior to his death he impregnated Daisy and she later gave birth to his son but Sweets was sadly never able to see his son grow up.
