Landfill is a minor character in Generation One of the Transformers franchise. He was based on a figure from the 1988 toyline.
History[]
Landfill was first seen in the Marvel UK story "Aspects of Evil" in an alternate 1991, where he was stationed among the Autobots on Earth. He, Hot Rod and Quickmix were despatched to break up a fight between Scorponok and the Air Strike Patrol during a Decepticon Civil War. Scorponok promptly surrendered to the Autobots, knowing they would be obligated to fight the Air Strike Patrol for him and lead them away from humans.
He made his first Marvel US appearance in Issue #60 as one of the Autobots stationed on Cybertron, working with newly resurrected Classic Pretenders Grimlock, Jazz and Bumblebee in raids on Decepticon strongholds. He reappeared in Issue #73 when Galvatron led an attack on the Autobots to prepare them for the coming of Unicron. Landfill battled against Unicron's heralds and survived after they were recalled to deal with the errant Galvatron, who had teamed up with Emirate Xaaron to revive the sleeping Primus. He last appeared in Issue #74, standing with Quickmix and Backstreet after Primus had gathered all the Transformers together to defend Cybertron from Unicron.
In the Marvel UK annual story "Trigger-Happy", Landfill was again shown stationed on Earth under Optimus Prime. He, Quickmix and Scoop formed part of an attempt to ambush Ruckus and Crankcase, which failed when Backstreet panicked on seeing the pair had unexpected air cover and opened fire. Landfill helped Optimus Prime search for Backstreet when he ran away in the aftermath and welcomed him back to the Autobots.
