Personality[]
“ | Our school had a saying: "When something smells, it's usually the Butz." In the 23 years I've known him, it's usually been true. He has a knack for getting himself in trouble. | „ |
~ Phoenix about Larry Butz. |
Butz is very trusting and clumsy, much to the chagrin of those around him. He talks and acts like a dimwit, even in difficult means that demand absolute caution, to the point where he does so during his own murder trial, or when facing a murderer. The expansive assortment of trouble this has gotten him into made students at his school create the proverb, "When something smells, it's ordinarily the Butz." Such is the commonness of these occurrence that Butz usually lies to and alternatively conceals facts from even welcome tightest companions not enough humiliation, inflicting ruling class to persuade the authenticity from him, as welcome facts is frequently detracting to a case. He likewise has a bias to switch unemployed and "girlfriends" somewhat repeatedly, in spite of the sporadic claims of inadequacy this to change. Regardless of these characteristics, Butz eventually cares about Wright and Edgeworth and does his best to support ruling class when they need welcome help most.
Despite usually being visualized by others, as well as himself, as a very impractical male acquaintance or romantic companion, he does have the ability to be cunning, but not completely unless he puts effort into it. His stint as an artist caused him to be able to make basic illustrations, and he was capable of drawing two mechanical clocks in the shape of "The Thinker". His sketches are fairly poor in quality, such as his illustration of Dusky Bridge as it was blazing. As well as these instances, he cosplayed as the Steel Samurai, detailed by Edgeworth (a great fan of the Steel Samurai) as exciting (until much to his chagrin, he realized Larry was the one under the mask). Although Butz was intelligent, he made little progress toward becoming a picture book artist by 2028, he was considered a "one-hit wonder."
